Dick Allen
QUOTE (daa84 @ Sep 5, 2008 -> 01:15 PM) so any chance he plays in the playoffs if we get there? can I know griffey played right in cincy, but can he play left for us? Believe me, Swisher will be in LF and Griffey in CF.
fathom
Broken bone for Quentin. Hopefully he's fine in 2 months. At least he got to 100 RBI.
scenario
QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Sep 5, 2008 -> 01:08 PM) Bruce Levine confirms Quentin is out for the season. If it's true, it will be the first rumor Levine has gotten right all year.

LittleHurt05
QUOTE (MEANS @ Sep 5, 2008 -> 01:22 PM) dam this sucks if true, anyone with confirmation yet? I've looked around everywhere, no website reporting it yet...and we all know that both Jesse and Bruuuuce have been known to be wrong on more than one occasion.... GreatScott82
Lets just hope Griffey stays healthy and gets hot down the stretch.... thanks for an amazing season Carlos!! Hopefully we'll carry you to the finish line!
Cali
Griffey needs to have the September of his life. Maybe the desire for a ring will drive him....

Allsox
If CQ is done for the yr, why play Jr in CF? Swisher can just move into a platton of BA and him in CF while Griff takes LF.
Dick Allen
I blame Herm Schneider.
hawksox13
QUOTE (Cali @ Sep 5, 2008 -> 12:27 PM) Griffey needs to have the September of his life. Maybe the desire for a ring will drive him.... Didn't Soriano have the same injury and recover in six weeks? If that's the case, he'd be back in five more weeks. So around October 5-10th he could be back. That would be for what, the ALCS? Sorry, just thinking best case here. That's not too likely at this point. scenario
If he is out... which is still not more than a rumor yet... I expect (and hope) that other guys will step up. Paulie usually has two very strong back-to-back months every summer. August was his first. If other guys step up, this will not kill us. If they don't, then we don't deserve to go on anyway. BaseballNick
We won it in '05 without Frank, now we have to win it in '08 without TCQ. This team is plenty good to make a run without Carlos.
SoxFan562004
http://www.sportsline.com/mlb/players/playerpage/1114751 with the very little we know right now it sounds like a similar injury to what Longoria had
GoSox05
Paul Konerko needs to have a killer year from here on out. If he can do that I think we should be ok. The pitching needs to be better, but that was with or without Q.
BigSqwert
Hopefully the team rallies around this.
jenksycat
As long as Oz does this right, and doesn't put JO in the lineup everyday, I think Kenny G will step it up.
NorthSideSox72
QUOTE (BaseballNick @ Sep 5, 2008 -> 01:33 PM) We won it in '05 without Frank, now we have to win it in '08 without TCQ. This team is plenty good to make a run without Carlos. I like your optimisim, and you may be right, but... this pitching staff is not as good as the 2005 one was. With Linebrink back, the bullpen may be close to as good. But the starting staff isn't, and with Danks looking tired out, its a big drop from 2005's starting 4. Also, this team doesn't have as good a defense. Let's hope the fact that this team has a better offense (which is true, even with out TCQ) than 2005's will make up the difference. ChiSox_Sonix
Any word on how severe it is? A break can be anything from a slight fracture to shattered
klaus kinski
At this point I'd put Alexi in the #3 spot

A break can be anything from a slight fracture to shattered There's no word yet, but if you want to be optomistic, it sounds like the X-Rays didn't pick it up and he's been trying to deal with it for a week or two, so hopefully it's just slightly fractured.
