Bad loss....no more of these joke lineups. Fields is just terrible at baseball now, I don't think his heart is actually in it.

He couldn't have done a better job of convincing people to throw him off the team than yesterday's debacle of not lifting the bat off his back in two ABs.

I really don't think this team is doing anything without Quentin.

I guess they can luck out by backing into the playoffs if Minnesota plays as poorly as they have. They are outclassed against the other top AL teams.

took 2 of 3 from the Angels, had the tying run is scoring position in the 9th and got f***ed on 2 strike calls to swisher. I'll take it - good series. Let's cool off toronto.

Swisher f***ed himself. I can't believe anyone would defend him. Dye got f***ed, Swisher f***ed himself.

If only Crede could have stayed healthy for two more weeks, Fields would have been traded at the deadline. There's no way he's on the team next year. And FWIW, I was one of his biggest fans last year.

The other top AL teams aren't anything special.

Clearly the Sox were outclassed by the best team in the AL in taking 2 of 3 from LAA.

Then what does that make the Sox?

All those teams are better.

I don't think anyone on here is proclaiming the Sox, without Quentin, to be world beaters. Just enjoy we're in the position we're actually in. If you couldn't enjoy last night's game after the fact, then there's no reason to ever watch baseball.

The Sox are better than anyone else at smashing homeruns. Therefore, if they're hot in the playoffs, they can beat anyone.

The one thing they do really well is probably better than any one thing those other teams do.

As far as being well-rounded, the Sox are not. But there's a very believable way for them to win any playoff series. Smashing it

EDIT: To be clear -- They're the least likely of the 4 AL teams to get to the World Series, but it's not so much a disparity that you bother getting upset about it.

Let's not act like we were a consistent offensive team even with Quentin. Anyways, aside from the latter innings yesterday, the offense the first two games against Anaheim did pretty damn well. It's only one player in a lineup full of eight others. If even two of have stellar months and the rest don't regress too much it can be overcome.

in other news, death magnetic leaked

also, joe nathan has a 1.07 era, sick. lol

He has blown 3 saves in the past 2 weeks. That ERA has to have taken some sort of a hit from that

it's funny that people thought we stood a great chance at winning today with Hall, Fields, and Brian Anderson in the lineup

and yet, we almost won the game (lost by 1 run, had the tying RISP in the 9th inning)

Who said we had a great chance of winning? I saw plenty of people who said there was a chance and to not count it as a loss, but I dont recall anyone saying it was in the bag as if it was an easy W

some of the responses in this thread lead me to believe that they just can't believe we lost the game.

there was a rather huge chance of us losing this game, probably 60-65% chance
