greg775
Do you realize how big that DH is?? Man pennant races are scary. Let's face it, Minnie is going to sweep KC. The games probably won't be even close. KC is in the tank. They have quit on their little dictator of a manager who has done a piss poor job this season. Hope we bring our A game(s) tomorrow. Jordan4life_2007
I remember I thought Cleveland was going to sweep Tampa Bay near the end of 2005. That's why they play the games. Will see what happens.
oralsoxpodcast
The real cause for concern is how this screws up the pitchers and their rest. Javy won't be able to make his next scheduled start, so a callup will probably get the start. Rain could be costing us a game like it did with that Orioles game. Steve9347
The Jays are hot, but wow, it'd sure be nice to have a 3.5 game lead after today.

Ozzie clearly doesn't look at matchups. Toby Hall actually hits Burnett well, too. Of course, Swisher was 4-40 against Lackey...now 5-43 after Saturday. Harry Chappas
QUOTE (watchtower41 @ Sep 9, 2008 -> 12:59 PM) maybe they asked Richard who he is more comfortable with? You may see Phillips in the second game then. I suppose he caught him in AAA.

Of course, Swisher was 4-40 against Lackey...now 5-43 after Saturday. Toby Hall .958 OPS against Burnett in 9 plate appearances AJ Pierzynski .258 OPS against Burnet in 12 plate appearance. I dunno but I play Hall here and Litsch in the nightcap, although AJ is ofer against Litsch (Hall hasnt faced Litsch).
ptatc
QUOTE (BlackBetsy @ Sep 9, 2008 -> 12:02 PM) Toby Hall .958 OPS against Burnett in 9 plate appearances AJ Pierzynski .258 OPS against Burnet in 12 plate appearance. I dunno but I play Hall here and Litsch in the nightcap, although AJ is ofer against Litsch (Hall hasnt faced Litsch). 9 and 12 plate appearances is a pretty small sample size. Just go with the better hitter (AJ) or maybe it's the sub in the second game who is more familiar with that pitcher.

fathom
So, can this offense get to double digits in this 4 game series? We didn't come close at Toronto. I wonder if the Blue Jays would win the AL Central if they were in the division.
