Frankensteiner
QUOTE (jphat007 @ Sep 9, 2008 -> 03:13 PM) Who said we'd be fine without Quentin. I think everybody know that it woudl be really tough to win without him. Not what I read in the Sunday game thread.

GreatScott82
Pathetic display of execution tonight. 0-4 in bunt attempts, are you serious? I dont know why Ozzie didn't let Alexie swing that bat with that dude being so wild. Why give up an out when you have 3 cracks to win the game. Oh well- they deserved to lose that game. 0-5 vs the Jays this year, not good.

Oh well- they deserved to lose that game. 0-5 vs the Jays this year, not good. At least Alexei is usually capable of putting a bunt down. Virtually no one else on this roster is, and it's frightening that it has been 5 years and still Ozzie does not realize this. OK, I get it, they are Major Leaguers and should be able to do the simple things. However, we just can't, no matter how many times we try. Let's play to our strengths and stop giving up outs. Harry Chappas
Nick Swisher could be the most over rated player in White Sox history. In the last two games he has looked at strike three ala Scott Podsednik three times. With runners in scoring position in huge situation. To call him a run producer is sickening. Buck Weaver's Ghost
Live by the home run...die by the home run. That's been this club in a nutshull. The Twins top the majors with a .315 average with runners in scoring position. Granted this isn't the only reason why the Twins have stayed in this race, but in games like this it becomes all the more apparent when we can't get men over and in when they're on second with less than one out, at how without a homer we're out of games like this. Let's not even talk about our inability to lay down a bunt... Source: http://www.sportingnews.com/yourturn/viewtopic.php?t=443736
joejoesox
I also want to state for the record I'm f***ing sick and tired of Phil Cuzzi's crew umpiring our games These guys, particularly Cuzzi, hate Ozzie and probably AJ as well and wouldn't surprise me in the least if their feelings towards them lead to "missed" calls, such as the interference call at 2nd with Alexei, as well as other possible balls/strikes calls I hate phil cuzzi, i can't wait til he's gone. The Ginger Kid
seems like so much damage is getting done against the sox with two outs. That used to be a danks issue last year that seems to have spread.

He struck out 2x in the bot 9th in the last 2 games. If only he could tie games up with homers or get on base for homers or hit walkoff homers he wouldn't suck so badly. hahah, this place is comical after a loss, makes the rest of work go by faster. He is hitting .228 I suppose the fact that he hit the walk off home run in the extra inning game and had a nice game Saturday alleviates the .228 average becasue he does draw the timely walk. Nick Swisher is not a good hitter. To get called out on strikes like he has tells me he is not a good hitting. I suppose the singing and the dancing make up for it though. The line Hawk uses "Don't tell me what you do, tell me when you do it," could be the dumbest line ever. A .330 hitter is more useful than a .230 hitter no matter when they get the big hit. Sorry to hurt your feelings by thinking Nick Swisher sucks because I really think he does and the .228 batting average and below average defense back me up. So basing the "he is the most overrated player in white sox history" off of the last 2 games is somehow different than saying he is the best after 2 walkoffs/game tieing? Right, sounds good. I'm not saying he is the savior of this team, but to overreact after every big K is retarded. I'd still take him any day over any of the other OF options we pursued in the off season based on age/contract and ability. Yet everyone loves Nick Swisher. What exactly has he done this year other than sing and dance and get Hawk all giddy when he does have nice day. Swish is blasted right along with them, but since he doesn't have the personality of a piece of wood, he gets some leniency. It might not have a huge impact, but having a guy around that seems to actualy enjoy playing baseball for a living is a good thing to have on the team. It would be hard to watch a team of PK's sitting on the bench golf-clapping for a walk-off grand slam. Again, I'm not saying he is the greatest man alive, but would still take him over the others who could have been in his place. Oh and what about the weeks PK was out? Who fills in for him and actually produces? Thome? Ozuna? Ross Gload?
