Steve9347
I felt this deserved it's own thread just like Lost. I think Fringe is going to be fantastic given how excellent the first episode was (encore Sunday night). Not only was it original (despite the blatant Lost music at cutscenes), but the show has a great cast and the preview of the season looked fantastic. Next week, with House as a lead-in, my Tuesday nights are now FOX all the way. What were some other impressions of Fringe?
Jenksismyhero
I thought it was good enough to bring me back for more episodes, but I had a few issues with some of the logistics of the show. Obviously it's all about sci-fi, but I still found some parts very difficult to believe. Like his lab would still be up after 17 years, like he'd be able to instantly use all the new technology, like an agent like her (a liason no less) would actually remove him from the mental institution (or the fact that he could just be released like that so long as he had a guardian), or put herself through that...procedure. But ya know, Lost has me believing in smoke monsters and an island that can disappear so...what are you gonna do. I'll definitely be watching next week. juddling
considering it is on Fox....i expect it to be cancelled in two weeks because of percieved 'low' ratings. Boy...i hope I'm wrong on this one but Fox has a history of quickly canceling shows i really like.
Chisoxfn
I enjoyed it. Was looking forward to it based upon previews and I'll be keeping it on the DVR (hopefully it won't be one of those shows that fades).
fathom
So what were the two words at the end of the episode they hyped up?
DABearSoX
eh...I don't respect Fox, well not since they took away my Arrested Development
Whitewashed in '05
The show looks good enough to keep entertained. I didn't really see anything special in it though. It's like they try to make the show believable, but a lot of it isn't. Anyways, JJ Abrams is the television version of M Night Shyamalan. Soxbadger
I thought it was good, reminded me a little of Surface. House and Fringe should be a nice Fox Tuesday.
knightni
Face melting goodness! The whole , "I love him, we need to save him!" thing was kind of contrived though.
thedoctor
QUOTE (knightni @ Sep 15, 2008 -> 04:04 PM) Face melting goodness! The whole , "I love him, we need to save him!" thing was kind of contrived though. yeah, that bugged me and i didn't think the writing quite as crisp as say lost, alias, or some of abrams other outings. but it was only the pilot and they obviously wanted to introduce a bunch of stuff since there will be a few different layers to the story. i think we'll get a better sense of the storytelling once we actually get into it a little bit. nitetrain8601
Fox will probably cancel it just like they did with Reunion. Damn, I just wanted to see the end of that show.

Jenksismyhero
So are you guys still into this show? I gotta say it has WAY too much X-Files in it. Every episode wrapping up in a nice neat little package. The 3rd episode might have been the nail in the coffin for me.
juddling
so far I've been entertained but the lady in charge of Massive Dynamics ( i think that's the name) is starting to annoy me.
knightni
It's gettin kind of uneventful and formulaic for my liking. 1. Mishap situation 2. "Dream Team" investigates 3. Crazy professor realizes that it's one of his experiments 4. Sarcastic son responses/secret life? 5. Mopey blond FBI chick is a "downer". 6. They do something ridiculous and get a result. 7. Directs to Massive Dynamics 8. Crazy lady at MD knows everything 9. Shadowy guys up to stuff 10. All wrapped up with stern comments by the secret two-faced black FBI guy.
