CaliSoxFanViaSWside
Beat me to it. Dale Sveum is interim manager.
Kyyle23
I cant blame them. The Brewers have been mismanaged brilliantly
WilliamTell
I'm both surprised and not surprised. I'm surprised because it's so close to the end of the year, I'm not surprised because it needed to be done if they have a second collapse in as many years. Balta1701
QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Sep 15, 2008 -> 11:12 AM) Beat me to it. Dale Sveum is interim manager. Hiring a former White Sox infielder to do the managing has at least worked for 1 team in the past 3 years.

whitesoxfan101
The question: Is it too late? This should have happened LAST August realistically. Yost is as bad a manager as I've ever seen, which is obviously saying something with all the bad managers in baseball. DBAHO
Yeah a lot of questions will be asked if they don't make the playoffs, especially with the way Sabathia has pitches since he was acquired. Going to be very interesting to see what happens there over the next couple of weeks.

Jordan4life_2007
With a competent manager the Brewers, not the Cubs, are going for their second straight division title. Yost was absolutely terrible. He had to go.
whitesoxfan101
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Sep 15, 2008 -> 03:09 PM) With a competent manager the Brewers, not the Cubs, are going for their second straight division title. Yost was absolutely terrible. He had to go. Agreed. I'm not sure if the Brewers would have won the division this year with a competent manager, but they'd for sure have won last year and would at least have a comfortable lead in the wild card this year while being much closer to the Cubs in the division if their manager didn't suck. southsider2k5
Wow. I don't think I have ever heard that one before. Fired in the middle of a pennant race.
StrangeSox
So I don't really follow the Brewers at all. What did Yost do (or not do) that was so awful that led to being fired at the end of a season in a playoff race?
Brian
Thought they would wait til the year is over, but understand the timing.
whitesoxbrian
He was the worst manager in baseball. Good riddance.
WhiteSoxfan1986
Thank god, he was the worst manager in baseball. Has a manager in a pennant race ever been fired this late in the year?
LosMediasBlancas
Brilliant move. If they make the post season, then obviously Yost was the problem. If they don't make the post season, then obviously Yost was the problem.
