caulfield12
QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 18, 2008 -> 07:59 PM) Leadoff man on for Twins in the 9th. I really don't like that they're not pitching Howell. Now there is one Royals castoff who really has reinvented himself and made a good second career as a reliever. You might see him against Mauer/Morneau...depends what happens with Casilla. OOOPS! Now the Rays are really in trouble...because the Twins haven't used any of their better relievers. Well, assuming the real Joe Nathan shows up. Edited September 19, 2008 by caulfield12

Princess Dye
QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 18, 2008 -> 07:56 PM) Ramirez's numbers were inflated in a few extra inning games against the Sox. I was told his ERA is over 8 against the rest of baseball this year. that actually made me laugh a little even though insides crying

joejoesox
i'm so close to just congratulating the twins, even though we're 3 games up on them (2.5 is a stupid way to say it, as that half-game may not even get played. we're on a 161-game season right now) we lose, they win, we're still up two games but we are playing so f***ing badly right now. At least they are trying, unlike us. We're sending out Horrible Ramirez on the mound in close games. What do we expect?
caulfield12
Why can't the White Sox ever put away the Twins??? The only thing that is a small consolation is that this White Sox team is nothing like 2005 or even 2003. You really feel they have no chance to do anything opening on the road in Tampa Bay. The Twins match up much better against them.

greg775
We can't expect the Twins to tank every night. As badly as we are playing, I continue to expect a sweep in Minnie. The question is can we win two of three vs. KC? We're not going to sweep KC. Nothing would surprise me there except a sweep by our Sox. I don't think that will happen; any other result would not surprise me, even us getting swept. Tony why do you think some hope we drop to 1.5. I don't believe that. We're just playing like s*** with the pennant on the line. That just sucks. Edited September 19, 2008 by greg775
caulfield12
Well, fading out of the playoffs after leading the entire season will do wonders for our season ticket sales. I guess there's not much difference with getting swept, except a few fans will buy season tickets for 2009 in order to get playoff tickets. A few. Those extra ticket sales (projected) would give KW a little more room to maneuver in the off-season.

SoCalSouthSider59
What a f***ed up way for the Sox to have played their last game at Yankee Stadium, i guess Ozzie must think we're not in a pennant race, letting Vasquez give up 7 runs before taking him out....... Now we gotta depend on TB to win???? f*** me........ Edited September 19, 2008 by SoCalSouthSider59

Princess Dye
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Sep 18, 2008 -> 09:09 PM) Well, fading out of the playoffs after leading the entire season will do wonders for our season ticket sales. When we get some distance from this season, especially considering the CQ injury, i think there's no way to look at that season as other than a positive. We got some young studs that we didnt expect from what was to be a geriatric team. I'm talking CQ, Alexei, Floyd, Danks. If some of the older guys can produce next year, we'll still be looking good in this division. I dont know that i want all the older guys around, but i dont want a total rebuild either since we were such a power hitting team this yr.
