CaliSoxFanViaSWside
Ok lets get go offense. Is a 2 game winning streak against the Royals asking too much ?
Brian
Between our offense tonight and Butler's hat, I'm laughing a lot tonight.
southsideirish71
QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Sep 20, 2008 -> 06:35 PM) Thats the only mode they know, and it got them to the record they have now. Kenny needs to get some personnel in here to fix this for the future. Its okay to have a power core. But having a bunch of guys swinging for the rockies doesnt lean towards consistency. Brian
QUOTE (lostfan @ Sep 20, 2008 -> 07:37 PM) That's not why we haven't scored. That wasn't a DP by AJ in the first?
Flash Tizzle
Is Davies 6IP, 2H, 0ER good? No. His fastball is straight and his breaking ball is hanging half of the time. They're pressing against crap. It's embarrassing watching games like this when you KNOW Minnesota lost and you can put 3 1/2 games behind yourself and Minnesota. Are they obsessed with making that Minnesota series matter? After Yesterday I would have believed differently, but this is just bad.

Does that explain how the other 17 outs have not led to any runs and there have only been 2 hits? Blaming a shutout on one player is a copout. It would do wonders for my blood pressure if we win tomorrow and the Twins lose (not likely with Liriano vs Sonn).

southsideirish71
Well thank god we dont have to face a pitcher of Davies caliber in the playoffs. My god, that would be a quick exit.

lostfan
QUOTE (Brian @ Sep 20, 2008 -> 07:42 PM) But if Wise gets hit or stretches the inning, can't it have a domino effect on things? IF Wise (who is 0-2 tonight btw) gets a hit, MAYBE they eventually score a run that inning. Then it would be 3-1. Should AJ be in the 2 hole? No, probably not (as if we are loaded with options there, however). Is that the reason this team has gone now 7 innings with 2 hits and no runs? Absolutely not. Felix
QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 20, 2008 -> 07:44 PM) Should Floyd still be in this game? He's pitching on regular rest at Minnesota next week, so I don't think Ozzie is too concerned about his pitch count. Floyd has looked good since that rough two inning stretch earlier, I'd say keep him in until he gives a reason to be taken out. Brian
QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 20, 2008 -> 06:44 PM) Should Floyd still be in this game? 82 pitches and consecutive 1-2-3 innings. If we lose, it won't be Gavin's fault. Poor Billy Butler.

Indians are playing some great baseball right now. If we're in a situation where we have to win 2 of 3 to make the playoffs, that might be difficult. Davies dominating Seattle = Seattle laying down and getting their draft pick position solidified. Broadway may even defeat them if given a chance. Davies dominating White Sox = PATHETIC. I'm not giving him one ounce of credit. No "hat tipping" at all. This is Davies career game, and I don't even need to monitor him from this point on.
