It's really great to see a vet like Mark really step up his game when it matters most.

I think Mark is easily the best pitcher the Sox have developed over the last 30 years. The only ones that might come close are McDowell and perhaps Alex Fernandez.

McDowell crapped out at 127 wins, Fernandez at 107. Mark is already at 121, and will probably top 220 before he's done (assuming 8 more seasons at 12-13 wins per season)

I really hope assuming we make playoffs Ozzie puts in Richard as the 2nd lefty over Ramirez.... with the emergence of Macdougal and I think Richard will be great in pen, our playoff bp might be one of the strengths.

I have a fear that Ramirez would still be in the pen, even though Richard would be in as well.

Then again he had no problem putting Duque in the pen even though he hadnt been a reliever all year. but thats in the case of a vet. on the flip side, McCarthy b/c of his youth was left off. I'm sure Richard has to be on though. That pen was actually, well, a pen.

To be fair. I don't care what the 2 game stats say. I trust linebrink.

If Linebrink wasn't hurt for two months, the Sox would have clinched already. He was probably the biggest factor in the bullpen's turnaround from last year.

Losing three mph of his fastball is everything for Linebrick. No one seems fooled by his changeup, or missing his fastball.

The Sox MVP for September has been the Minnesota Twins. No one has done more to make sure the Sox stay in 1st place.

Post of the season!!! Every time there is a chance to take control of the division, the Sox lose and dont take advantage, but never fear. the Twins are there the next day to lose and keep us in first...with an extra special thanks to Matt Guerrier for doing his own part in keeping the Sox in first...

Well tomorrow they have Liriano pitching, and the Rays have been partying with their playoff clinch. We face another pile of crap that they will be swinging for the fence on. And I am sure Griffey will be out in CF to turn singles into XBHs.

I still don't understand this. If he were hitting, it'd be one thing, but is there literally anything he does well anymore?

Excellent point. That's an automatic Twins' win.

With the way the Twins have been playing lately, nothing is automatic. Hell, Liriano let up 8 runs in 2.2 innings last time he pitched against Cleveland.

Yeah the hangover crew is going to be out for Tampa, but they still have a division to win so hopefully they don't role over.

And the teams as well. With our starting pitching, if we can shorten games to 6/7 innings it makes a huge difference.
