juddling
WATERBURY, Vt. -- People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals sent a letter to Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield, cofounders of Ben & Jerry's Homemade Inc., urging them to replace cow's milk they use in their ice cream products with human breast milk, according to a statement recently released by a PETA spokeswoman. "PETA's request comes in the wake of news reports that a Swiss restaurant owner will begin purchasing breast milk from nursing mothers and substituting breast milk for 75 percent of the cow's milk in the food he serves," the statement says. PETA officials say a move to human breast milk would lessen the suffering of dairy cows and their babies on factory farms and benefit human health. Today at Arby's when I was half way through my large beef sandwich, I pondered the suffering of the poor cows as they give up their milk. Then remembered I had a half of sandwich left. Kyyle23
I think PETA reps should all realize that plants are living organisms as well, and therefore PETA people should stop eating anything and everything until they all die happy

Reddy
so... they really don't think things through do they? the logical progression of this would be then to have... farms of people... in which women are hooked up to breast pumping machines... that is, if they really wanted to ease the pain of these poor cows. They do not feel pain. but farming plants with a mechanized process kills a crap load of animals . think bunny rabbit and harvesting machine.. farm land also takes away from animals natural habitat. so if you want to really save the animals don't eat, ever. less people = better environment for non-human animals! So killing animals on purpose in a factory farm = harvesting vegetables (because an occasional animal might get killed by a tractor) I honestly don't think I've heard of a dumber argument to justify factory farming. Oh it's way more than an occasional animal, my grandma had a farm and I've seen the carnage. Also, did you know that the fertilizer farms use often get into our river system and cause eutrophication in areas such as the Gulf of Mexico (thus killing many fish)? just saying, maybe you could use a intravenous nutrient drip to supply you with sustenance. Much more humane. I agree with you about animals being held in horrible conditions, it should be banned. But I also think animals can be killed humanely and then I make hamburgers.
