Zambrano will put a TON more pressure on himself to go out and succeed tomorrow night, and he won't likely handle it well. He hasn't been that great since his no-hitter. I could see him doing a complete meltdown job on the mound.

That being said, this is rather amusing. Every single one of us, I am sure, have Cub fan friends who spent the last few days telling us how easy this series was going to be and that they were going to sweep the Dodgers.

Actually, a lot of Cubs fans told me that they don't care who they play. They were like "bring them on, no one can beat us".

This isnt about jinxes this is about match ups.

Lowe > Dempster

Z > Billingsley

Harden > Kuroda

Lilly = Maddux

Right now things are just playing to how they should be, so when Z shuts down LA tomorrow its not going to be a shocker. Its just going to be why would you ever really want Dempster as your starter in game 1?

Billingsley has actually been better than Zambrano this year

Yep and how they thought that the NLDS and NLCS should be skipped because what's the point of the Cubs going 7-0 against inferior competition.

That really is the thing, its that Cubs fans were so arrogant it made me sick.

I was at a Blackhawks game the other day and this guy was sitting with his wife and his friend. His friend goes:

"We are going to the Cubs games right."

And hes like "Yeah"

His wife goes "Hey what about me"

And he goes "Youll get to go to the better seres."

At work when I say that I dont think the Cubs will sweep its just cause Im a Sox fan that cant be thinking straight because I hate the Cubs (which I dont, I feel bad for some of their fans that are cool and I like. The rest it makes me laugh when they choke.)

Playoffs are tough, LA made significant improvements down the stretch.

Wow, I didnt think the Cubs would get punked like this. Its probably a real good thing that they cut off beer sales last inning

Thats just for clinching games. I think Wrigleyville will be an ugly scene tonight.

No, just saying there's no reason to jinx things.

I don t believe in jinx or curses, the Cubs just choke cuz they have all the expectations of millions of fans who believe that crap and the first sign that things are not going their way, they panic and then that makes the players press,it s a vicious circle

Some real sour grapes on NSBB.com

I'm choosing right now to voice my displeasure with the best of 5 first round.

Seriously, the NBA realized this was bunk. Even MLB did when they switched the LCS to 7 games.

I thought they were trying to figure out ways to reward the teams with the best regular seasons. Not space the LDS series so that teams with fewer wins can line up their best couple of pitchers to dominate a series.

If the MLB cared about the best team winning the first round would be seven games, the best team would automatically play the team with the worst record and would have HFA through the World Series.

Scratch that, if the MLB cared about the best team winning there would be no playoffs.

And seriously, God hates the Cubs. There is no other way around it. How does that get out and not Edmond's hit.
