yeah, I think we are just pissed off. hopefully next week everyone on soxtalk loves each other again ( obvioulsy meaning we won 3 straight)

Yea hopefully so. They got us these 2...our team just needs to battle back. I am telling you...Tampa Bay WILL NOT win this series in Tampa Bay. We're not winning game 3 and 4 just to have Burls lose game 5. WONT HAPPEN.

Im pissed, but it's over and done with.

So the formula he used when his team won it all wasn't good enough?

That team hit 200 home runs and scored a high % of their runs through the home run. The whole Pods thing was mostly an illusion.

I like Tampa...only player who has pissed me off is Balfour. If they beat the Sox this series, I hope they win it all.

Ditto. I like seeing teams that never did anything finally getting their act together and winning it all ala Marlins, Diamondbacks, etc.

Same here. I can't stand Boston for obvious reasons, and I'm not fans of the Angels because of K-Rod and the '05 ALCS. Tampa is the least of the three evils.

Tampa hit Buehrle pretty damn hard tonight. I don't know if Buehrle would have anything left in the tank. God bless him for his effort though.

We were able to manufacture runs a lot easier than we do now. And our pitching and defense was much better.

Fire sale? We should have won 78 games this year, but instead, we won 89. We have to keep Dye, Konerko, Swisher (well, we don't HAVE to, but we will), Alexei, Danks, Buehrle, Jenks, Thornton, Linebrink, Carrasco, Quentin, and AJ, and then a few more guys I'm not thinking of off the top of my head.

Unfortunately, Thome has that dopey clause in his contract.

I think we should bring in Uribe, trade for a 3B (Mora, Beltre, etc.), hopefully Q stays healthy for a season, get Brian Roberts, and trade for/sign a CF'er. I wish we could get a guy like Manny to DH, but again, we have Thome, and KW would never want Manny (along with many on this board). And, if we do trade Thome and don't want Manny, get someone to play RF and DH Dye.

Bring in Uribe? What does that mean? Have him player even closer to home, so he won't stop any balls from getting past him?

The Sox manufactured 70 fewer runs in 2005 than they did in 2008.

The pitching - especially the bullpen - is the biggest difference. Not the structure of the offense.
