What is Harold Reynolds talking about the Sox are a good fastball hitting team?

91 to 94 center thigh to belt straight as an arrow. They can crush that. Now if the thing moves, or is above the belt, then all bets are off. Konerko used to be one of the best fastball hitters in the league. His bat is now a tick slower.

Two things that stand out so far about our hitting this series:

- way too many hitters are out in front of good pitches, and are hitting meatballs foul

- too many strikes taken while swinging at balls

and what that means is: Tampa Bay advanced scouting trumps ours which seems to be non-existant

Konerko used to be the best fastball hitter in the league. He turned a Matt Anderson 103 mph fastball around into a game winning homer to left.

Our video guy was on the radio last year talking about how he uses video of success only to prep our hitters. So Thome gets to watch video of him hitting home runs to prepare him for a tough pitcher.

I think it's the players too. Jesse Rogers was on the Score and asked Dye what Garza would feature. Dye didn't know who he was or what he threw. Dye has actually faced Garza before so how the hell did he not know him?

That may be JD's style...but if it's a function of the advanced scouting, that's horrible.

Greg Walker is a bad hitting coach...not more needs to be said.

everything I've heard walker say, leads me to believe he's afraid to offer criticism to our veteran hitters

I find it amazing that we can praise Cooper for reworking pitchers mechanics, helpin their mental conditions, and retooling talented yet under developed players. Yet all hitters that come to the sox are finished products that cannot be altered.
