HuskyCaucasian
I'm looking into getting a GPS for my car. I'd prefer sub $200. I am curious what you all have and if you like them. Plus, minuses... ect
NorthSideSox72
I have a pair of Garmin Rino 530Hcx - full color handheld GPS unit with integrated GMRS 15-mile radio. I love them, but, probably not what you want for a car just driving around. My car has a built in Nav system, which is great. Unless you plan to move it from car to car, you may want to consider getting an in-dash unit. This has the added benefit of letting you upgrade your car stereo system, to pick up some of the other recent technology (HD radio, Aux audio input for iPod, etc.), all in one swoop. It corssed my mind. But the ones at BestBuy are $700+ and with a newborn and all bill associated with, I just cant stomach that. lostfan
I just ordered a new T-mobile G1 and it has a built-in GPS in it. I won't get it for about a month though.

Or at Amazon.com for $178. I've been researching them for awhile now and this is the one I'm going to buy. I found the reviews of different GPS systems on Amazon very helpful in the process of evaluating them. ChiSox_Sonix
I have a Garmin Nuvi i think the 780. It's expensive but it is great. It can double as a music player if you'd like and it is bluetooth compatible. I've only had to use it a handful of times. I went to Atlantic City a few weeks back and it worked great and I drove around downtown/midtown manhattan this past weekend and it worked perfectly there too. No real negatives yet, IMO. If you're willing to spend some money, i'd definitely recommend that model.
Steff
I have the Garmin 780 (or 750 not sure and our friends are using it in Florida right now) as well and love it. Used it a ton before we got the nav in both cars. Now we maily use it when we travel in rentals.
