Chisoxfn
Like I said Danny leaves his pitches up, He does not have tremendous stuff, lets save those words for the elite. In my mind Wright has tremendous stuff. He has great movement on his fastball (Its also very hard) and he has one of the better knuckle curves in the game. Stuff wise he's better then Buehrle, but that just shows stuff doesn't mean everything. You still have to know how to pitch (Change speeds, have control, etc) and if you can do that you don't need a great fastball or curve. Bighurt52235
I'm also disagreeing with the statement that this is his first full season in the big leagues. He had 26 decisions last year! That's plenty.

clujer420
A month ago I e-mailed Hawk and DJ regarding Danny Wright. I asked them how short his leash was since he hadn't won any games and had a bad ERA. Hawk said that we needed to give Danny time to recover fully from his injury, and most of you agreed. Well, a month later, his ERA hasn't changed and he STILL has 0 wins. Time to get his ass out of the rotation before he costs us even more games. Capn12
Thing is, when Wright gets ahead of hitters, he can be dominant in that he has so many options to throw. Unfortunately, Wright has a hrad time getting ahead of anyone most of the time

Sometimes Danny has the most movement in his bad outings. His fastballs cut in and go out they can go any which way. The problem is he can't control the movement and falls behind hitters A LOT. Once Danny falls behind or gets a couple runners on base is when he can get in big trouble because of his control.

That's plenty. 26 decisions is definately a ton. Last year was his first season (You could call it a full season) and then this would be his second year. I say between the two they work out to around a year and a half. In my mind when a guy is rushed you got to wait 3 years before things happen. In that time period you need to see improvement and I've seen that from Danny. Last year prior to the injury he was improving every start. This year he has done pretty good as of late (Minus his last start or I think it was his last start). Coming back from an injury definately drops him back cause with arm injuries it really takes a while to get back into a rhythm.

Bmr31
Like I said Danny leaves his pitches up, He does not have tremendous stuff, lets save those words for the elite. I agree 100 percent. Wright doesnt have anywhere near tremendous stuff. His location is awful. He will never amount to anything in the major leagues. These things are the reasons WHY this guy hasnt won a game yet, deep into July.

Capn12
I think that with all the right handed bats in the lineup, we can afford to let Lee go away...either via trade, or whatever. Put Everett in left, then when he walks at the end of '03, Borchard can play the position he should be playing. Maggs in RF, and for now, either Rowand or Harris have to play Center

I do think now is a great time to moev him to the pen where I feel he will be very sucessful. Ponson and a reliever would be so awesome. Use Lee and a prospect or two as bait. Ponson and the reliever would be long term solutions. Sign Ponson for around 5 mill a year, then you let Colon walk yet still have a damn good rotation and a heck of a bullpen. However i cringe at having a guy go to the pen, especially in the closers role, who cannot locate his pitches.
Capn12
I think that one thing we are sorely missing is that good long reliever out of the pen...AKA...Rocky Biddle. The guy was built for that role, and Glover just has no confidence, added to the fact that JM has no confidence in using him either. Whoda thought that the best part of the deal with Montreal would be Biddle, not Colon?

Bring up a minor leaguer or get another starter, and see if he can use his stuff more effectively in the pen.
