dasox24
QUOTE (Cali @ Oct 8, 2008 -> 09:47 AM) "Say Hi to your motha for me, okay?" that was my favorite part I love the Whalberg impression. It's something I've never noticed, but that is exactly how he talks.
Steve9347
What's up with everyone spelling it "Whalberg"?
Cali
QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Oct 8, 2008 -> 09:02 AM) Yeah, I enjoyed that skit. Seriously, I've been telling everyone, SNL is hilarious this year. It's been good for a couple years now. Ever since Hader, Samberg and Sudekis started to shine it's been awesome. Put it's like the trendy thing to do to hate SNL. but people dont realize it's been on for 30 plus years. They're gonna have little chunks of time where it's good and when it's bad. And it's not going anywhere any time soon. It beats MADTV every weekend and that it's only competition....

The SNL Digital Shorts, which you know are all Samberg brainchildren, are amazing... The Space Olympics and Extreme Challenge were both hilarious this year. witesoxfan
If I weren't busy getting hammered every Saturday night of the year, I would actually take the time out to watch it. I might have to start DVRing it so I can watch it later.

All you have to do is select the show you want, and push the record button. I know you can do it, Wite.

I loved that when it came out, and I showed it to some classmates and they didnt laugh once. Meanwhile I was dying when they cocked the gun like they did. Jenksismyhero
I thought this was aight. The recent Palin stuff has been good. But these few clips don't save a show that's been terrible for a decade. And by terrible, I mean completely unwatchable. I remember catching it a few times and just staring at the tv with my mouth open asking, "Why? How? Really? This is what they come up with?" What I'm saying is that for the most part, the entire episodes have been GREAT this year, and the show is definitely on the upswing. As for you comment about "saving" a show, it's already been pointed out that its one of the most watched shows on saturday nights, so it's not going anywhere. I saw the first episode and it was atrocious. I did not laugh at all. And the space olympics thing was lame. At one point one of the fake news anchors says something to the effect of "that's all you could come up with while we were off this summer?" to someone else's character, and that's basically how I felt about the entire show. Made me not wanna watch it again. But that marky mark bit wasn't so bad. Decent impersonation. And the palin impersonations have been good (Random: I tried to watch baby mama with tina fey last night and it's terrible.) All my humble opinion, of course... You know what, it's been so good the last 3 weeks, I forgot about the season debut. It was bad (aside from Space Olympics, imo). I apologize for omitting that episode, you are right it was terrible. I believe at some point earlier in the Fall Television Season thread I did bring up that the Michael Phelps episode largely sucked, but that's because he's not an actor. Since then it's been quite good.
Cali
Athlete's almost always SUCK. Peyton Manning was actually one of the best ones. There were a bunch of great sketches in his episode. Johnny Mosely was also kinda good. The hosts that are the best are people with stage experience in their past. Because it's basically live theater. And for some reason, British people always rock haha
