Balta1701
QUOTE (knightni @ Oct 10, 2008 -> 05:10 PM) Richard, Carrasco, Dotel, Linebrink, Thornton, Jenks are all solid RPs. Am I the only one still stumped about how Boone Logan went from being so incredibly solid to so incredibly bad over such a short timespan? knightni
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Oct 10, 2008 -> 09:39 PM) Am I the only one still stumped about how Boone Logan went from being so incredibly solid to so incredibly bad over such a short timespan? Pitch tipping? He wasn't solid in '06. I remember a few times when he rode the Hafner Express.
Balta1701
QUOTE (knightni @ Oct 10, 2008 -> 05:40 PM) Pitch tipping? He wasn't solid in '06. I remember a few times when he rode the Hafner Express. But yeah, in May and June people hit well under .200 against him, he gave up a grand total of 2 runs those 2 months combined (both solo home runs) and struck out 20 in 17 innings. He then fell completely apart. His ERA the first half was 3. His ERA the 2nd half was 16.39. His ERA for May and June was just over 1. From just over 1 for 2 months to 11 to 18. I mean, those splits are just remarkable. I have no idea how a guy can do that.
jenksycat
QUOTE (knightni @ Oct 10, 2008 -> 07:10 PM) Thornton, Jenks are solid RPs.. Linebrink is when healthy, Dotel is 50/50. Carasco was a one-hit wonder, Richard maybe. Fixed
greg775
Richard, Carrasco, Dotel, Linebrink, Thornton, Jenks are all solid RPs. Richard is a question mark, but looks like he has a future. Carrasco did OK for the most part but by no means is above average, Linebrink very good when healthy, Dotel is an overpaid bum, Thornton is dandy; Jenks is a god. joejoesox
there's really only three players on this team that i would throw a hissy fit if we traded dye, jenks, and buehrle i have no logical reasoning for my love for these guys, though the 2005 world series has a lot to do with it i'm sure
beck72
The bullpen needs to be strengthened. Trading Jenks would weaken it big time. Right behind adding a top of the order hitter is an 8th inning set up man [who could take Linebrink's spot if Scott can't come back from injury] would be tops on my to do list. But trading Quentin, Ramirez, Floyd or Danks would rank juat as high in my book.

GreatScott82
This team needs 1 more top of the rotation type SP and 1 or 2 more RP. If KW can fill up these by trading Dye than i'll be for it. I do believe one of Figgins, Hudson or Roberts will be here. With 1 year left on his deal, i think the O's will finally be looking to trade him at a reasonable price. For 3b i still would love to get Figgins, but something is telling me the Angels are keeping him. Unless Texiera goes elsewhere of course. Rumor has it the Yankees are going to overpay for him. So the Angels may call Kenny up about Pauly if that happens. At this point anything can happen. We have holes at 3b, 2b, CF, 1 SP, 1 or 2 RPs. KW is going to acquire 6 to 7 new guys to this team, it will be fun to see how he does it. I cant wait for Hot Stove and the Winter Meetings! Reddy
QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Oct 11, 2008 -> 01:16 PM) Like I've said before, I wouldn't be surprised in the least if Dye is traded. i just think that would be a mistake. he's still a great player and of him/thome/konerko, he's the best of the three. i know that helps his trade value, but i really don't wanna have thome and konerko BOTH in that lineup next year. though you're right, i wouldn't be surprised either. whitesoxmanager
Pretty good writeup. Shows what players we have and how much money committed to them and the team in general for the next year. Pretty much just another way to pass the time until spring training. outlook its amazing how the guys making the loot kinda sucked and the guys who dont carried us all year
