What does Copeland expect? Up 15, you don't try and score there. Pull the ball out and run the clock out.

I was pissed at Copeland because I had UNC giving 14 1/2 and I technical there could have cost me the cover.

Agreed. If Copeland wants to be a punk and try to run up the score, he should not be surprised if he gets mugged (and it wasn't a dirty foul either IMO, just a hard foul). Then, he gets all pissy about it to boot. Copeland looked very stupid there.

Can't blame the guy. Copeland's a senior that gets to play about 1 minute a game if he's lucky, and he was going against NC State's starters still in the game. The object of the game is to stop the other team, not take a cheap shot because you are pissy that you got your ass whipped.

Cheap shot? Are you sure you were watching the same foul we're talking about? He swated at the ball and hit him in the head, part of the game. It was a hard foul, but absolutely not a cheap shot. I understand you have the baby blue tinted glasses on, but that was nowhere near a cheap shot. The cheapest part of that play is trying to dunk with 2 seconds left in a blowout to get yourself on sportscenter, regardless of how many minutes he plays.

Big 10 officials are completely incompetent. I love that this play gets an ejection but the Krabbenhoft elbow to Lewis Jackson didn't even get a foul.

I'm thinking what happened today was a reaction to Krabbenhoft and other such fouls recently. Big Ten officials and supervisors of officials evaluate games on tape. They likely told them to tighten things down to make sure things get out of hand so you get the call today coming from that. Just some speculation.......

That is very possible. Still a ridiculous over reaction though. Call it a foul, hell call it a flagrant foul, but I've never seen an ejection for someone swinging their elbows to clear space.

UNW

Who the f*** is that?

As for that Harris thing, complete bull. That ejection was a gross overreaction. There was no malice. He shouldn't be flailing his elbows, but that's not ejection worthy.

Iowa is gonna be tough when Tate/Tucker get back. And your spot on regarding the game at Wisconsin next week.

The Illini in my eyes need to finish 5-4 in their final 9 games, going into the tourney with less than 10 losses (including a possible loss in the Big Ten Tourney) will be a huge success. And the schedule is looking hard, so I would be really happy if we finish there or better.

Today was a tough game in the sense they they were playing a mediocre opponent, at home, coming off a bad and painful loss in an important game. It was just a survive and get the win type of situation, and Illinois deserves credit for at least doing that today. Iowa is pretty good for the 2nd worst team in the Big 10 though standingswise I will say that, especially with them not being healthy. This years Big 10 is the best league without a legitimate Final Four contender I can remember seeing. Michigan State is not a legit contender. You can't be considered that if you lose at home to Penn State and Northwestern, no matter how improved they are, and I still think Purdue is too small.

MSU is basically playing without their 2nd best player because Morgan has basically been out with a respiratory infection for the last couple of weeks.

I guess Hansbrough was really upset he sucked so badly in his last game and took it out on NCST.
Tyler only logged a bit over 20 minutes minutes against Florida State, due to foul trouble. The Noles defended him well, but he would have had his 15 plus if not for the foul trouble. His game against NC State was far more typical, I don't think there was much anger fueling it. Copeland has no clue of how to act as a scrub at the end of the bench. If any Tarheel would have moved off of the bench to try to restrain him etc. it could have cost the Heels dearly. Bulls*** foul, but know your role. He didn't receive a Tyler Zeller type hit so just take your free throws and hit the showers next time. Roy was clearly upset, and it looked like he encouraged the refs to toss him.

Well, Northwestern and Penn St. showed everyone how to beat Sparty, hoist up a boatload of threes, and hope 6 out of 10 fall. :headbang :notworthy

NU was 9-28 from the arc against MSU, that's not why they won. The 18 turnovers for MSU were a far bigger reason, especially when NU only had 7.
