maggsmaggs
QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Dec 30, 2008 -> 12:58 PM) Purdue by 15+ Illinois is one of the top 10 defensive teams in the country, they won't get blown out. They keep this one close, but lose in the waning minutes.
RockRaines
QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Dec 30, 2008 -> 12:59 PM) Illinois is one of the top 10 defensive teams in the country, they won't get blown out. maggsmaggs
QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 30, 2008 -> 01:14 PM) Is that due to their talent, or their competition? Even last year in all their suckiness they were a very good defensive team. Weber teaches defense as well as any coach in the country. Maybe partially competition, but a lot is their coaching and solid team defense. They held Mizzou, a top 10 scoring team in the country, to 59 points. There is no doubt you guys are Illinois haters, but defensively they are one of the best in the country, and its hard to argue against that. Currently, they are 11th in the country, last year 19th, the year before 4th, the year before 11th. Always a top defensive team. kjshoe04
I'm a hater. I'll admit it. I take pleasure in watching them lose. Probably because they get all the publicity when ISU has had the better team two straight years now.
Buehrle>Wood
QUOTE (Jimbo's Drinker @ Dec 30, 2008 -> 07:19 PM) competition Nope, sorry. Illinois has been in the top 25 in adjusted D in every year Weber has been coach. This isn't some anomaly.

kjshoe04
QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Dec 30, 2008 -> 03:57 PM) You really think ISU is better than UofI this year? I really do. ISU has two players better than any player on Illinois. Osiris would be hands down the best player on that court. I also think ISU is more athletic than Illinois. The difference in my eyes would be the size. If ISU could get decent rebounding, I think they would win in a close one between the two teams. The difference would be Osiris and Oguchi's rebounding. Illinois State hasn't played anybody this year so while they may be undefeated, it's a bit deceiving. Illinois' depth would give the Illini the win IMO. Buehrle>Wood
It was cute watching Purdue complain about the refs tonight. Never mind the free throw total. US? HAND CHECK? NO!
Jenksismyhero
regardless of how this plays out, i'll say two things: 1) Illinois is going to be good this year, and a player in the big ten race. 2) (I never thought I'd say this) Chester Frazier is the only guy I trust with the ball. SnB
some of the ugliest offensive possessions (from both teams) i've ever seen in the second half of this game

maggsmaggs
QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Dec 30, 2008 -> 07:56 PM) Worst call I've ever seen. Davis did hit his hand, so the call was warranted, but the entire game Illinois could have had a lot more FT calls.
