It's a bad situation for MLB, but I think Bud and the boys made the right decision in saying it was going to go 9 no matter what. You can't have a WS game, much less the clinching game, go anything less than 9.

No kidding. I was thinking last night if they delayed the game, and then awarded the Phillys the title the next day how subdued the celebration might be. Either way I think this is going down as one of the most boring WS I've ever seen.

Well according to the news last night, Selig said he would've postponed the game regardless if the Rays tied it. I'm guessing I'm the only one who watched.

I heard this too, and agree that it would have been the right thing to do under the circumstances, even though it would have been completely contrary to the established rules of baseball, which, as written, would made the Phillies the winner of the official game, set, and match. Its hard to believe that this scenario had never come up or been contemplated before.

Ideally, this'll be a lesson for MLB/FOX about proper baseball scheduling. Stop pushing the games back as late in the month as possible. It only gets colder. Heck, how about an earlier start time as well? 6:30 sound good to anyone else?

With two EST teams, these games should of been starting at 7 EST, not 8.

So true,I've dozed off watching these games...2 boring teams playing subpar baseball, still I hope the Phillies knock off the "Devil" Rays...I bet the ratings must be horrific for Fox,lol :gosox3:

Am I the only person on earth that has thought that this has been an interesting series? And that the Phillies have played at a semi-high level and the Rays just won't go away?

You may be. I see a shell of the team that was the Rays, and a Phillies team that cannot bring in runners, but are winning mostly based on the ineptitude of their competition.

No, their opponent was just better. The Stros were actually in every one of those games and really didn't blow anything by stupid mistakes. They just flat out got outplayed.

The Astros defense in Game 2 was pretty bad.

Oh I know...I've always thought it was interesting how everyone thinks our starting pitching dominated in the World Series. In actuality, Garcia was the only one who really pitched lights out. Houston just couldn't get a hit with RISP after the 8th inning in Game 3.

I would say that the Tigers implosion was worse, as those errors were just pathetic.
