HeGone33
Question: For anyone that has played or seen both MLB The Show 08 and MLB 2K8, which game is more realistic when it comes to players and there acutal tendancies? Take batting stances and swings for example. I've read quite a bit and most people say The Show is a ton better, but from looking on youtube, it seemed as if 2K8 had the players stances and swings more accurate. Also, which has the better version of US Cellular? Can anyone post a picture of the park? Thanks

ThunderBolt
QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Oct 22, 2008 -> 05:33 PM) From what I've played, I like the show alot better. I got 2K8 due to it's creative similarities to the greatest baseball video game of all time (also known as MVP Baseball 05). Unfortunatley, it's taking me a long time to update the rosters. So, i''m yet to experience much of the game for myself.
HeGone33
Thanks for the replies guys, but can you get more specific as to my question? I know about 90% of people like the show better, but for the things I like in a game as described above, im wondering what people think is the best. Thanks a bunch
Steve9347
The stances and swings are accurate in 2k8, and the Cell is pretty realistic. However, from that point on, the game is just terrible. The pitching is kind of neat, but there's still too many homeruns, fielders are too accurate on their throws, and you don't have as much control over your players as you would like. If I had PS3 (XBOX owner), I'd adore a chance to play the show. I've played it a few times and it's hands down a better baseball game. I had MLB 2K7 for about a month and got sick of it, but with the homeruns and stuff on 2K8, if you adjust the sliders does it help it out? Thanks a bunch Don't buy a game based on graphics and realism. Buy it based on gameplay. You'll play a game that is fun a hell of a lot longer than you will one that looks "right." That said, 2k8 looks more accurate, but not all that much. The Show might be a step down in looks, but it plays as one of the best baseball games I've ever played and doesn't look awful by any means. nitetrain8601
I bought and love MLB2k8. It's very hard to get used to at first, especially the pitching, but once you get it down, it's super fun and they actually brought in the difficulty that is pitching. Instead of just pressing the buttons, I prefer to have to mimic my exact windup each time for the perfect pitch. Can MLB2k8 be tweaked? Yes. But it's pretty decent with the realism. I haven't played the show, but I have 2k8 and it's not as good as I had hoped. I agree; the game play is poor, there are lag issues with the game even if you aren't playing online, and player control isn't very good. There's a number of glitches in the game, which is very annoying. Edited November 8, 2008 by mr_genius
