LOL I know you guys of ST too well.I can read the thread title and know exactly who is gonna post in it.

God love ya.

Yeah, you can find the same people in the same threads pretty consistently. Kind of like how the blagojevich thread has turned from "This guy is a total douchbag" to "the democrats this, the republicans that"

Its all the usual suspects ;)

Whether it's a UFO or not, I'd really like to know what the government knows about UFO's, but that's not going to happen.

This idea of the government withholding UFO knowledge never seemed right to me. Who exactly would control this information? If it has been a secret this long, it would have to be in the hands of only a select few. You can't keep a secret this big under a confidentiality agreement with several hundred top secret access employees.

Because the aliens haven't decided to lower their spacecraft on the front lawn of the White House to prove to everyone they exist, there has to be a reason. Assuming they're here, either we know and somehow have an understanding with the aliens; or the aliens are making damn sure their presence can't be proven. And if it's the latter, why would you ruin all your studying (or preparations for an attack :)) on a f***ing strobing light over Texas. Just turn on your invisibility cloak, which you should have if you've mastered the production of large amounts of cold fusion.

Another random thought that came into my mind is, what if these aliens (if they're out there) aren't even on our size scale? We seem to assume this, but what if they're practically microscopic; or are large as a building?

I'm no biologist, but why are we always looking for water in regards to alien life? Is water really the universal building block of life outside of Earth? I doubt we could possibly know that. And "aliens" always seem to have two arms/feet and are more or less a weird version of us. What are the chances that there is a universal life structure?

As for the government holding information, NASA has been sued multiple occasions for withholding such information about the Kecksburg UFO sighting. I do find that interesting. They still won't give up anything.

I'm no biologist either, but we have to assume the interaction of elements in our solar system is the same across the universe. Water isn't exclusive to us (Mars/Europa), so it'd just be an idea that searching for water, which we know is essential for life, is easier than some unknown substance.

It's interesting you mention the universal life structure idea. You notice that every mammal has two eyes, two arms, two legs. There has to be something to these traits guaranteeing maximum chance of survival opposed to four eyes, two arms, four legs, etc. For aliens to be exactly like us, I believe it'd prove that there is some continuity across the universe on what life produces. Which would pretty much annihilate my idea of huge or small aliens.

The light argument imo is pretty bogus.

For all you know the lights are some sort of apparatus that creates propulsion.

How many Rocket ships have you seen on earth that have absolutely no propulsion system (0). In fact the entire propulsion system of the rocket is based on burning fuel and it creates a magnificent spectacle of light that is very bright.

If these are real UFO's it is clear that they are using some sort of other propulsion system, therefore its very hard to start putting Earth restrictions on what they are doing. The lights may also be some sort of communication similar to what ships at sea used in terms of flags on a mast.

There are just a million scenarios.

Why would they come all this way and not land? I've always believed if another life form managed to get this far, they would land somewhere and say How the hell are you?!

If you followed our planet as an outside for a month or two, would you feel safe landing?

This led to a solid hour of Wikipedia for me.

One of my favorite programs on there is Conspiracy!

Monster Hunters is either really good or absolutely awful. The Giant Squid episodes were cool because there was results, pictures of the squid. The Bigfoot stuff they do is a joke, grown men jumping at every stick breaking in the woods and making (what they believe) bigfoot calls into the woods. The loch ness/champ stuff isnt so bad, but when its bigfoot I just change the channel.
