Texsox
Who has Frank pissed off in the MLB front office? I'm glad for Maggs but this is almost like the Fridge getting a TD instead of Payton. Frank deserved the chance and he's been passed over twice. At elast they should have to follow the 32nd man voting. Damn it's for the fans. BridgeportHeather
Not to demean anything Loaiza or Everett have done for the Sox this year; however, it's nice that one of our Chicago White Sox veterans is getting the chance to go! It would have sucked if our only two representatives had not even a combined year with the Sox! This is good news for the Sox! I bet the entire crowd is gonna errupt when he's announced, as well as whenever he comes to bat and to the field. Perhaps they'll save the "OEO Magglio" for him during the All Star Game. CubKilla
FT deserves to go first. Says who? f*** him. I'm so sick and tired of all the FT apologists. Give it a rest. He's almost back to .265. He blows. And he doesn't have the RBI numbers that Giambi has.

Besides, his numbers do NOT support an all star spot.

You guys live and die with players like Loaiza and Buehrle who, compared to Thomas, have done nothing for this franchise. I dont care if you respect those guys but if you do, you should respect Frank too. Hes done a lot more for us than any other player in history ever has. And he doesn't have the RBI numbers that Giambi has. .274, not .265. And if Frank was in the Yankee lineup, he'd have just as many RBI as Giambi does. They gave Giambi the MVP in 2000 when Frank deserved it, and now they give him an AS spot. Sadness. And "apologists"? What are you talking about dude? Listening to the first game on AM 1000 I could have swore Rooney and Farmer mentioned that Thomas' avg. was back down to .270 and would have been lower after Saturday. As for Giambi winning the MVP in 2000..... no DH is ever going to win the MVP unless he hits .375-.400 with big time HR and RBI numbers. A sports writer (can't recall the name) said it best when he stated, something to the effect of, "An MVP helps his team offensively, defensively, and in the clubhouse." I happen to agree. And yes, apologists. Let's forget the time Thomas left the AllStar Game early cause he had better things to do. That's when the fans were voting for him. "Thomas should be going over Everett." Well, not according to the MLB players. Maggs is announced as Ramirez's AllStar replacement and you're not 5 posts into a thread and people are b****ing and moaning, "Why didn't they take Thomas?" Waa, waa, waa. Maybe because they needed an OF replacement ? Oh, by the way, since it hasn't been said too often in this thread, congratulations Maggs . While I don't deny the fact that Thomas' career numbers are stellar in a White Sox uniform, Sox fans need to realize that Thomas' numbers aren't as good as they once were and his numbers this year, for the most part, are not AllStar worthy. But let's give him an AllStar roster spot because it's at USCF at any cost . Makes Sox fans sound like fans of a certain other Chicago baseball team. Yeah, Im saying hes the best player to ever don a Sox uniform... I guess with some posters, FT is an AllStar every year . I didn't know the AllStar Game was about what a player has done for his franchise . I thought it was all about what a player did for his team the first-half of the season . Using that criteria, Loaiza is an AllStar. And why do you even call yourself a fan of the White Sox ? You're a fan of Frank Thomas. Aren't you the one that said earlier this week something to the effect of "Screw Everett and Loaiza" because they made the AllStar team and Frank f***ing Thomas didn't? Or was it that you hoped the AL lost cause your precious f***ing Frank wasn't voted an AllStar by either the fans, the players, or the manager. Should tell you something there. But I guess the only person that knows anything baseball is Roman . Screw the fans, screw the players (after all, what do they know about Thomas ), and screw Scioscia. Who the f*** does he think he is anyway not naming Frank Thomas onto the AllStar Team after all he's done for the White Sox franchise ? You heard it here folks. Didn't know the AllStar Game was a franchise player exhibition. PS..... don't tell Roman FT is not the White Sox current franchise player or he'll wish slow, painful death on a player like Maggs. Yeah, Im saying hes the best player to ever don a Sox uniform... There is a possibility that, without Buehrle, this team doesn't compete these past two years and stay in it enough to keep a lot of these guys. Without ELo, we wouldn't be within 6 games of KC....it'd be more like 10-15 games out, if not more. We'd be in Cleveland and Detroit territory. So you can just shut the hell up. ELo and Buehrle have done just as much as Frank has in the past 3 years, if not more.
