NCsoxfan
According to the New York Daily News, Derek Lowe "opened the free-agent bidding yesterday asking for a whopping $16 million per season." The newspaper suggests that Lowe's asking price may force the Mets, among other teams, to reconsider targeting him. Of course, like many Scott Boras clients Lowe may eventually have to come down from his initial demands. Would he leave his sportscaster girlfriend? caulfield12
At $16 million per season for four years, he can just import her with him and build his own personal cable access network for her, like Wayne's World.

Chisoxfn
He'll end up settling for something like 4yrs 50M, imo. But I could be wrong.
caulfield12
Let's split the difference and call it 4/56. Still way too much, and too many years at this point in his career.
