This has been almost as hard of a wait for this to be back as it is with Lost between seasons for me

I haven't had that much difficulty with the wait, because the last season or two has been such a downgrade especially compared to seasons 1, 2, and 3.

I swear I can't even remember the plot line from the last season, and I know I watched every single episode (like always). What was it even about? The Chinese? The Plague?

The Arab guy doing all of the nuclear bombings, and then Jack killed him, and then it was the Chinese Ambassador and JAck's father vs. Jack.

There better not be a VP wants to take over from the President stroyline again.

Elisha Cuthbert may be making an appearance this season, which is always good. :D

Well, it has been 2 years.

The various elements included Abu Fayed orchestrating a multi-week terror campaign against the U.S., Wayne Palmer starting as the president, Valencia, California being vaporized by a nuke, and ends with James Cromwell discovering warp drive playing Jack Bauer's father and trying to run off to China with his grandson.

Ah yes, thanks. How could I have forgotten the enthralling, multi-generational Bauer family feud?

I always thought the way Almaeda went out was odd, because it just happened so lamely, and for that to happen in such a manner for one of the shows biggest characters, something seemed fishy.

I can't f***ing wait... even if it means another Cubs fan is alive again!

Yep and then as Balta referenced above, they never did the silent clock for him...people were up in arms about that....now we know why.
