RockRaines
Per ESPN. I hope this isnt the deal I have been hearing about.
Kyyle23
A couple scenarios could develop should he accept Should Vazquez get traded, I really dont see Richard or Poreda doing anything but relieving, and I would expect a move either for another righty, or Marquez gets the job handed to him. It should be interesting to see how this develops

Kenny Hates Prospects
Please no. 3 lefties is fine as long as none of them suck, but in this case, I think one of them ends up sucking.
GreatScott82
why go after a #5 starter when there are pleanty of 2, 3 or 4's to be had. I dont like this move one bit. Hopefully the Nats nab him before we do.

Kalapse
LINK It says he's received offers from the Yankees and White Sox but is working on a multi-year deal with the Nationals. Assuming the Sox offered him a 1 year deal (why would they go any longer?) you have to figure their chances of landing the overweight soft tosser aren't too good. Kalapse
QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Nov 24, 2008 -> 05:26 PM) If it's a 1-2 year deal, I really don't have a problem with it. Perez as a 5 is passable. I'd much rather have an innings eater in the 5th spot, not a 32 year old who's probably going to throw 120-160 innings with a large possibility of completely bombing. Case in point: he lasted 7+ innings 3 times out of 30 starts last season and lasted less than 6 innings in half of his outings (15/30) including 7 outings of 4 IP or less. What would that 4.34 ERA look like if he wasn't pulled after 5 in nearly half his outings? If he doesn't have a great defense behind him he's going to give up a f***-ton of hits, he has a high LD%, high contact% and an 88 MPH fastball

Jordan4life_2007
QUOTE (SnB @ Nov 24, 2008 -> 07:52 PM) kw has wanted perez forever it seems like. That was like 4 or 5 years ago. I don't buy this at all. To sign Perez is to say you have no faith whatsoever in guys like Richard and Poreda. I think they'd give Broadway a shot before actually bringing this bum in.
