DBAHO
There's another team out of the OC race. With the Dodgers not having any interest in OC, there may not be much of a market out there for him besides Minnesota (but if they sign Blake, I can't see them then going after OC). SoxFan562004
Wilson was vastly overrated in Chicago because for awhile there was a rumor he was coming to the Cubs
southsider2k5
http://www.freep.com/article/20081204/SPOR...057/1048/sports Tigers in serious trade talks for SS Jack Wilson By JON PAUL MOROSI • FREE PRESS SPORTS WRITER • December 4, 2008 The Tigers have not acquired shortstop Jack Wilson from the Pittsburgh Pirates. Advertisement Yet. An official with close knowledge of negotiations said this afternoon that “conversations are ongoing†between the teams but “nothing is imminent.†The official told the Free Press late Wednesday that talks had recently become “more active and meaningful.†The Star-Ledger of Newark, N.J., reported today that a deal had been completed, but a Tigers spokesman denied that an agreement had been finalized. Detroit has courted Wilson off and on since the 2007 trade deadline, when the sides came very close to a deal. Wilson is due $7.25 million in 2009 and $8.4 million (or a $600,000 buyout) in the following season. In that respect, he fills an important criterion in the Tigers’ search for a shortstop: Wilson’s contract is short enough that prospect Cale Iorg could inherit the everyday job at some point in 2010 or 2011. Wilson was limited to a career-low 87 games in 2008 because of a torn calf muscle and fractured finger. He batted .272 with one home run and 22 RBIs.
