I thought the station didn't go live until January 1?

Well it's not live, unless you consider seeing the same 2 things over and over again a channel. The actual programming doesn't start until the 1st.

Does anyone know what this station is gonna cost for Comcast subscribers?

Are they gonna add it to the "Sports Entertainment" package they have? NFL Network, NBA TV and NHL Network are included in that package so I would think they'd add it to that but it doesn't really say on their website.

That's exactly my question as well.

My feeling is that they will add it to the package and then us poor people will never see it.

This sounds straight. I wish there was a minor league baseball network.

MiLB.tv is good to watch certain games. But, nobody would go if they were on TV. Minor League Baseball is actually affordable. I only pay $950 annually for two premium, first base dugout seats with waitress service and a season parking pass in the "A" lot. That's a AA team.

I emailed Comcast. It's going to be part of the "Digital Classic" package. I'm still trying to figure out what the difference is in channels from Preferred (which I have) to Classic. Their channel lineup on the website is exactly identical.

I really really want to get this.

They need to remove NFL network from the Sports package and put it on Digital Classic.

That's actually why I was hoping the "Sports Entertainment" package would have been where they'd put the MLB Network. It's like NFL, NBA TV, NHL Network, CBS College Sports and all the Fox Sports affiliates for $7.99/month. That woulda been sweet.

I also have a question. We have Dish Network and I was wondering if anyone knows is they will be carrying MLB Network. This sounds like it's going to be a great channel and I'll be pretty pissed if we don't get it. Any help would be wonderful.

Damn it, what a bummer. I was so excited when I first heard about the MLB Network, and now I find out I can't even watch it. Thanks, Dish Network.

I find it kinda odd that Dish isn't going to carry it. I dunno if anyone watched the extended promo for the channel with Harold Reynolds but they're touting this as being the first time in the the history of cable that a channel is being launched to 50 million homes.

Comcast Chicago is 410 and all I have seen is the 2004 Boston review.

I have the Digital Classic Package so I am happy.

It's Ch.516 down here in the Peoria area, but it says not authorized for me, guess I'll have to update my plan

I watched the 2005 WS video on there this morning.

It never gets old.

Hopefully they'll be running the 2005 WS vídeo after Jan.1 so I can record it with my DVD recorder to add to my library of White Sox games...of course I'll contact the Commissioner's office so I can get their express written permission before recording it,I wouldn't dream of doing otherwise.

Just watched the Don Larsen perfect game. Picked it up in the 8th inning. I'm watching and listening to the announcer and it occurs to me Vin Scully is the announcer . Made me really appreciate how he's witnessed so much baseball, so many historic moments and playersand he's still at it any time I want to watch a Dodger game. There hadn't even been a perfect game in MLB since 1922 and Larsen had no idea that's what it was called. He just thought he threw a no-hitter.

I hate Dish Network. I feel duped. I need to find a loophole out of my contract and go to Direct TV.

Agreed. When I woke up this morning and remembered that the MLB Network launches today, I nearly cried.
