De La Hoya vs. Pacquiao

I have to respectfully disagree. Manny does not put people "to sleep" very often. He wars for many rounds and gets tko's. (Barrera etc. much smaller guys) he will trade toe to toe and normally comes out getting the better, but he is not known for big punching. De La Hoya was never shakin' up by one punch the numerous straight lefts that landed right down the pipe was a cumlative effect that wore him down by the sheer number, but not "put to sleep" by his power. Oscar is much closer to Floyd's size as well, as opposed to the guys Pac Man has faced in the past. I would love to see the fight and I give Manny a shot, but not because he is stronger or more powerful then PBF.

 

Morales, Barrera and even DLH, I'd say are guys who can take a huge punch. How would you compare PBF to them in terms of that?

Yes, but he wore those guys out with the consistency of his punches, he didn't put them "to sleep" with his sheer power. Oscar is the guy who is closest to Floyd in natural size, and even in his advanced age and being totally dominated he was never in serious threat of being "put to sleep". A lot of guys have got up from being knocked down (even 3 in one round) by Pac and weathered the storm to compete or even gain a draw/win. I just don't see Pac being able to put Floyd's light out, now winning by a tko if Floyd loses his mind and decides to war with Pac then maybe. Floyd's chin has never been given a real good look though, because he just doesen't take shots right on the button very often, so you never know. In any event I would LOVE to see this matchup. Good points. I suspect Floyd must know something about his own chin.

From what previous fights of either fighter do you see Pac having the power to knockout "Pretty Boy". Pac can thump, but he's no Hatton or other guys for one punch power, and Floyd doesen't take many, but he has shown that a glass jaw is not one of his characteristics. Pac Man is a naturally smaller guy then most of PBF's past opponents as well.

floyd doesn't get hit enough in the face for anyone to claim that he doesn't have a glass jaw, but that crack Judah gave him

he doesn't even hit him hard, and it almost caused floyd to fall back on his ass (holding himself up off the canvas with his right glove = by rule is a knock down)
