Jimmywins1
"According to SI.com's Jon Heyman, Orlando Cabrera will decline Chicago's offer of arbitration. Ken Williams can rest easy. Cabrera's a Type A, so the Sox will score two draft picks if he signs elsewhere. There's an extra tax of one draft pick for the team that signs him." http://www.fannation.com/si_blogs/hot_stov...bitration-offer Edited December 8, 2008 by Jimmywins1

Sox It To Em
Initially, I was hoping that Cabrera would accept arbitration, but upon further consideration, I'm not sure I want to spend $12 million+ on an old shortstop with a sub 90 OPS+. Even if we don't sign Furcal, I don't think the difference in production between OC and Lillibridge/Getz/Nix is worth that kind of cash. caulfield12
Dick Allen, please sleep peacefully and restfully tonight, your days of fretting and worrying are over... greg775
It's amazing how the Sox have rid themselves of all the major disappointments/or problem children. Swish the pouter - gone with his lousy BA. OC - the guy who calls the pressbox to b**** about errors, gone. Logan - the guy Oz has ripped in the press for being a BP pitcher, gone. Javy- the guy Oz calls out for being a non big game pitcher, gone. Crede - his agent the guy everybody hates, gone. Oz really is a major player in our organization right now. santo=dorf
good riddance. Sox get compensation. Don't have to overpay for an overrated hacker, and OC is going into a dead market. Make sure you f*** yourself on the way out the door you piece of s***.

There is still 15 minutes left for crushing news. For some reason, Cabrera might have been my least favorite member of the White Sox since Royce Clayton. kwolf68
Cool...minus one prima donna...whoever he goes to I hope they equip him with direct line to the scorers table. The guy was a CHUMP and I am glad he is gone. I think KW and Ozzie grew tired of his act as well. I am sure about Furcal from the standpoint of cost and health...but I'd be VERY excited if we replaced O-Drab with Furcal.
