Olney's latest column tells how the prices for the free agents are falling. Garland should be able to come far cheaper than first thought when the season ended. Whether that is still in the sox price range, who knows. But Garland is looking for a price cut from his 2008 salary.

Hmm Derick Lowe becomes a lot more interesting at say $10 to $12 million per season, versus $18. I doubt we are players, but one can dream I suppose.

with the way the market is falling (and about time) Garland may be had for 7-8 mill/ season. Those seem like Soxxy #s to me. Especially if they trade one of Dye of Konerko.

I would guess Lowe gets between $14-16 mill a year.
