What's everyone doing for the holidays?

Heading down to Texas to visit my sister/brother-in-law and my brother. My brother-in-law and brother both recently got new jobs, so they don't really have the ability to take off extra days to come here, so my parents and I are heading there.

Probably stop by this house too. Saw it the last Christmas I spent down there, 2 years ago. Most Christmas lights I've ever seen on one house.

Driving too much, cutting every visit short to get to the next visit, and returning too soon because I work on Friday, most likely in an empty office.

Sound like fun?

Didn't think so.

Oh, and I forgot - can't really drink at all because of all the driving.

Wonderful.

That is smart. I, on the other hand, am stupid. I'm here in Chicago freezing my nuts off everytime I go outside.

I swear on the honor of Sam Houston, Milam Smith, Stephen F. Austin, and all the founding fathers of the Great Lonestar State, I will never leave and head north in winter again.

But if everything went your way for the holiday then you would have nothing to complain about...and we all know how that would ruin your Christmas. :P

Yeah, the fun is in the complaining, but not so much in the facts leading up to the complaining.

If complaining was an Olympic sport, Michael Phelps would be eating my dust.

Typically swimming kicks up very little dust. The water tends to keep the dust down.

Is that complaining?

No, that's nitpicking.

:D

Technically, I would be competing in the complaining events and therefore I wouldn't be in the pool, so I could theoretically kick up dust if there was dust around the pool to kick up.

The other side of that technicality would be that complaining does not necessarily cause any dust to be kicked up, except maybe from the force of the wind coming from my complaining yapper.

I suppose I could have gone with a more fitting metaphor such as:

"If complaining were an Olympic sport, Michael Phelps would drown in my wake"....although, again, not a water sport, so I wouldn't be......ahhh, f*** it.

Trying to do way too much in much too short a time, as usual. To bring the stress up to the next level, I'm trying to finish rehabbing the living room fireplace. Then again, it looks like it's going to be 80º F here on Christmas Day, so the fireplace won't exactly be a necessity. :lolhitting
