Swingandalongonetoleft
I'd rather our team gain publicity via winning and success, but I guess this doesn't hurt anything. How about also adding a link to the team photo with G.W.Bush? *edit* Snap, I forgot GWB is responsible for cancer and malaria. Might not want to associate our brand with him! I love it how all the kids (and I'm 22 myself) hold some personal vendetta against Bush. They act like he rang their doorbell, slapped them in the face, and ran away... 100% of the nation's problems cannot be attributed to Bush. He's a good man, and I would love to drink with him one day. So says Swingandalongonetoleft who voted for Obama... If you want to delve into all that, go to the Buster.
BearSox
how about we try and keep politics out of sports teams? (not directed at anyone here, just the people who run whitesox.com)
Reddy
are you kidding? it's a huge marketing opportunity. if someone let that go without making use of it he or she would be and should be fired.
NorthSideSox72
QUOTE (BearSox @ Dec 30, 2008 -> 10:22 AM) how about we try and keep politics out of sports teams? (not directed at anyone here, just the people who run whitesox.com) This is the first White Sox fan President, and he's constantly seen wearing a Sox cap. I think they really have to do it, regardless of who he is or what party he is affiliated with.

BearSox
QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Dec 30, 2008 -> 10:35 AM) This is the first White Sox fan President, and he's constantly seen wearing a Sox cap. I think they really have to do it, regardless of who he is or what party he is affiliated with. I view my sports as I view my religion... I want no politics in them. But yeah, they'll make a lot of money off of this.
Heads22
If nothing else, Obama really is the world's biggest celebrity. And the world's biggest celebrity is an unabashed White Sox fan. Gotta capitalize on it.

soxfan72
BaRf! Mr. Reinsdorf, please keep politics away from my beloved White Sox. Especially ANYTHING to do with or related to the cess pool of disgrace that is Illinois politics. IMO this lowers baseball another notch, although not that it's worse than the steriods scandal. Throwing out the first pitch is fine. That's sufficient and should be the end of it and move on. Thank you.
NorthSideSox72
Thanks for posting this and all, its good info, but clearly it cannot be discusse without it getting politcal. I'm closing the thread.
