KipWellsFan
What happened at the Homerun derby, it wasn't on TV here in Canada for the very firsy time. It was being held tonight correct?

Chisoxfn
Anderson won and in my opinion it was one of the best home run derby's I've seen. Tons of fresh faces and man can those guys hit. I was rooting for GA and was glad to see him win. Oh ya, Pujols also showed why he's the best.

I found the Celeberty Softball game a lot more entertaining. I'm just not impressed with a homer at the cell unles it gets to the concourse. I'm tough to please. But every homer looks the same there in the seats to me. It's a boring outfield for measuring hr's unless they hit the concourse. they need a HR porch! Spiff
speaking of the celebrity softball game, jimmy kimmel needs to go away. good job by bo jackson for getting him out with the hidden ball trick

Soxplosion
I didnt see it but howd GA win? Hes a good player but more average than power. I was surprised to see him win...
DonkeyKongerko
GA and Pujols looked to have the two most effortless swings of all the derby participants. That's why I think these guys didn't show the signs of being nearly as tired as guys like Giambi or Sosa of years past. I still think Giambi's effort at the end of the 2nd round was probably the best show of the night. This guy had just hit 12 HR in the first round and its tough to come up there when you see a 14 spot on the board in front of you. I think he hit like 7 or 8 of his homeruns that round after he had 8 outs.

USCF has to be one of the worst ballparks for a HR Derby. Other than the new fan deck, what is there to shoot for? A cement concourse? The ad signs in LF and RF? Ugh! southsider2k5
Albert Pujols just showed me why he is the best all around hitter in the game today. That second round of his was the most amazing thing I have ever seen in a HR derby. He was hitting the ball routinely the other way 400+ feet! He didn't change his swing at all. If you watched Giambi at all you saw he opened up his stance and was trying to yank everything down the line. Not Pujols, he was patient and if a pitch was out he hit it the other way. I am in awe of him.

Tenacious PW
I thought the Home Run Derby was great. The matchups of Pujols vs. Giambi and then Pujols vs. Anderson couldn't have been more exciting.
