Wanne
http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/hotstove08/c...&id=3860861 The White Sox are left with questions at second and third base. Cabrera didn't want to return -- "He told me last year was his most miserable year in baseball," one scout said -- in part because of his strained relationship with manager Ozzie Guillen. Cabrera will be replaced at shortstop by Alexei Ramirez (who hit 21 homers and had 77 RBIs), a dynamic player and a great athlete who likely will be even better at shortstop than he was at second base. Let's hope so...but.

Why the f*** would you f***in hate to be the f***in editor of the motherf***ing manuscript? Is it because Ozzie says f*** too much? That's bulls***. He can go back to Anaheim and play for his favorite manager. :oldrolleyes So Cabrera the prima donna and Swisher the obnoxious 10-year-old didn't get a long with Ozzie, eh? Shocker. ETA: I'm speculating about Swish. His .219 BA and sudden decline after leaving the 'roids-infested A's may have had something to do with it as well. santo=dorf
I think we better sign Joe Crede for thirdbase so we don't have a question there HAHAHA That's like saying "I think we should re-elect George Bush to end the war in Iraq." Not possible. Not going to happen. Hypocritical.

He brought it on himself. The Sox were looking to him to provide veteran leadership. Instead, he came off as a selfish SOB. The phone-call episodes set the tone pretty early. Princess Dye
Well Cabrera and Renteria hate each other, and it's likely that Guillen is a Renteria guy dating back to the Florida days.
Kyyle23
QUOTE (Princess Dye @ Jan 26, 2009 -> 06:53 PM) Well Cabrera and Renteria hate each other, and it's likely that Guillen is a Renteria guy dating back to the Florida days. Renteria was long gone by the time Guillen was with the Marlins. Alex Gonzalez was his shortstop The thought was that Guillen liked Cabrera dating back to his days with Montreal, prior to Florida

Swingandalongonetoleft
Didn't you know? A down year BA-wise despite hitting 24 HR's clearly means horse steroids and regular consumption of bull testicles. It's been proven that since the inception of MLB a player suffering from decreased production is more juiced than a glass of fresh squeezed Florida oranges with pulp. *will bitterly miss Swisher and his mediocrity in the outfield in 2009 when NEED FOR SPEED, with his graceful gazelle-like strides takes the incorrect route to a ball* Edited January 27, 2009 by Swingandalongonetoleft
zenryan
an Ozzie written book might be sold behind the counter inside a dark plastic wrapper.
greg775
Good OC, cause you provided me with one of the worst moments in baseball when you acted up against the DRays and of course struck out after your fit. I like having a manager that the prima donnas hate. Oz rocks.
iamshack
Honestly, I love Ozzie as much as the next guy, and I would defend him to the end, but doesn't it seem a bit upsetting that both OC and Swisher were both considered pretty solid guys and they somehow didn't work out here? I'm not saying I know anything....just saying I would not be so quick to judge based on the incredibly limited knowledge we have of what actually went down here... Swingandalongonetoleft
In Swisher's case I think it has less to do with Ozzie not being able to manage him as KW working some vision out. OC, yeah, possibly. I liked both of these guys on the team, but as much as I may have liked Swish the ballplayer before he came here, if it was Ozzie that took part in sending him out of here (and I don't think so), then I'm more comfortable with it than with KW just cutting him loose to stock the farm. World Series or not, I love Ozzie. I'm 22, and there hasn't been half a Sox manager in my time as a Sox fan than Ozzie is. Sciosia, Torre, Gardenhire, Piniella, Wedge, Martin, LaRussa, Francona, Maddon, Leyland, not the one of them would make me happier despite their accolades or credentials (maybe Martin would come close). This guy, to me is the face of our team, hopefully for years to come. 70 or 100 win season, I'm content with the manager.
