For those of you staying in...what are you guys planning? I was thinking of trying some homemade wings. Obviously Chili is popular, and taco dip. Any good recipes? I had some cranberry salsa that was fantastic that I'll try to dig up a recipe for

I'm going to make a Buffalo Chicken Dip. First, boil chicken breasts (season if you want to with salt and pepper though it doesn't pick up much flavor in the water). While that's boiling, combine 1 part chunky bleu cheese dressing, 1 part cream cheese, and 1 part heavy whipping cream in a sautee pan and mix them together...that should take about 3 minutes. The chicken should be about done by that time...drain it, and from there, shred the chicken and mix in a sizeable amount of Frank's Red Hot (or whatever other buffalo or hot sauce you want to use). Portion that into a porcelain dish of whatever type, and cover all the chicken with the bleu cheese mix. Bake in a 350 degree oven until the bleu cheese spread on top browns, and then cover with shredded cheddar jack cheese. Let that melt and bring out of the oven to cool for like a second. Eat it with chips - I like Doritos but just regular tortilla chips works too.

It's so f***ing badassedly good. And if you have fears about the bleu cheese, you can't even taste it, it's just so delicious.

I'll be doing Layered Nachos and a lot of Bean dip:

Layered Nachos: Ground beef with taco seasoning, cooked normally as if making tacos, tons of cheese and refried beans pile high and layered between chips. Simple and delicious.

Bean Dip: Refried beans, chunky salsa, and a ton of taco cheese.

I had this at a party last year and it was amazing. It's so damn addicting, too.

I might try that Buffalo Chicken Dip too.

I'll prob make another dip as well. It is Hormel No Beans Chili, Cream Cheese, and Shredded Cheese. Microwave it, mix it, done. It is good with tortilla chips or Spicy/Sweet Chili Doritos.

Yay!

Anyone know a good fried cheesestick batter recipe?

Simple Salsa:

In a blender, combine 1 16-oz can of Hunts' Whole Tomatoes, fresh cilantro, salt, garlic powder, salt, oregano, and several chili de arbol (I usually use between 7-15). Blend. Quarter an onion and add in by pulsing. Chill. Voila!

It sounds ridiculously simple, but believe me, it is sooooo much better than any store bought salsa.

Enjoy.

I just saw this recipe and now its a must for the superbowl, The Bacon Explosion.

http://www.bbqaddicts.com/blog/recipes/bacon-explosion/

my cousin told me once that he knows someone who cooks up like 2 lbs of bacon as an appetizer at parties....everyone always looks at him weird and laughs at him when he does it...but the plate is always, always, always empty and everyone loves it...i think its genius

btw that link doesn't work, but i saw it posted on yahoo earlier

Yuk. They might have the lousiest chips 'n salsa for your money. The salsa tastes like it comes from a can. To each their own.

I'm not very picky lol.

As much as I'd love to make the salsa I don't feel like running out for all the ingredients.

Beer,

Yes I made it myself...have a brown, amber, wit, and german wheat to add the the mix

mmm that sounds awesome

im gonna do some homemade wings...got the recipe and process from alton browns "good eats"...i trust him with basically anything, but i just did a test run and damn they are good....you don't have to fry em, they are baked, so much healthier (though not completely healthy), yet still really crisp and tasty...

i'll probably experiment a bit with sauces but he had an asian orange glaze that looked phenomenal

Their chips often leave something to be desired, true, but their queso dip is very good I prefer an authentic queso blanco, but Chili's is very solid.
