Guest hotsoxchick1 Posted November 26, 2002 Share Posted November 26, 2002 things just dont get any easier for the ailing tribe... they lose wickman for the season due to tommy john surgery set for dec.6th .....they made another appeal to thome and are anxiously awaiting a phone call.....lets see if money talks or not.......hidalgo is resting at home and has some muscle and nerve damage to his left forearm....surgery to be decided at a later date......tigers trade simon to the pirates for three prospects.......benes going to call it quits.....and thats about all i have for now.... just thought a few of those things were interesting and wanted to share...........besides it takes my mind off how much our season is going to suck next year..........lol Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Chisoxfn Posted November 26, 2002 Share Posted November 26, 2002 Man losing Wickman was a huge blow for the Tribe. I wouldn't be shocked if Wickman never makes it back, considering his age. I can't believe the Pirates are thinking they are getting a stud first baseman in Randall Simon. The question is whether Thome comes back to the tribe. If he doesn't then look for at least 2 to 3 down years from the tribe. They may never even reach the top this decade and I think their ownership is really going to go cheap. I though Simon was pretty solid last year..... hit a good number of homers in that Cornfield Comerica..... not sure about his defense.... but he's gotta be a better alternative then Kevin Young... eh I think the Tigers got hosed...
