The Count 42 lbs lighter.

Contreras might be part of KW's plan and a reason why he's letting the kids go for the 5th spot in the rotation. He could be back pitching as early as June, though I'm sure they will procede with the usual caution. If Colon holds up ( a big IF) and a kid seizes the moment Count can be starter a reliever or trade bait if he can establish he's sound by the trade deadline.

Man he was freaking ripped in 2000

Guess that's why he was called the Bronze Titan. Here's a story a few years back about Jose, Coop, and the origin of the nickname. http://havanajournal.com/culture/entry/bro...cago_white_sox/

On the Final Word on Fox last night, Corey reported that Jose has lost 42lbs while recovering from the Achilles injury. And from the video they showed of him, he looks alot better than his previous Sox years. So how will this work out for him and the team?

It seems kind of weird to lose weight while having an injury that prohibits you from walking or doing any excessive exercises. But it's good for Jose.

He was in the pool at the end of the season. They said he really attacked the rehab regimen as early as he could.

One thing for sure, we don't want to see Contreras hitting, ever again. Not good.

I seem to remember him also being hurt in that game at Cincinnati in May or June of 2006 when he lost his winning streak.

I am sure he can't hit alick, but remember he hurt himself covering firstbase. Losing weight on a stengthening and conditioning program can spell winner for Jose C and the Sox. Hopefully he wil be back sooner rather than August!!

Its obvious he killed his rehad program as he is several months ahead of schedule. That is an impressive timetable considering his age.
