The Score is reporting that Sam Zell is now saying that the sale to the Ricketts group is not a 100%. Ricketts group is still having trouble working out the $$$, which of course raises red flags about what the Cubs payroll situation will be if the Ricketts group ever takes control. Of course every "news" outlet will completely ignore this and just keep saying the Cubs will add a big player at the deadline, ie Peavy

What? So soliciting a couple million here and there from local celebrities isnt the way to buy a team?

lol, exactly. This is seriously one of the most underreported stories in sports right now. The ramifications this could have on the team going into the future is pretty significant. Right now their payroll is completely frozen and a sale to Ricketts might not magically remedy that and the Cubs are stuck in some bad contracts. However, the media just continues to turn a blind eye on this

The media in Chicago wont report on it, therefor nobody cares. Its ridiculous that they are soliciting 25 million dollars from random celebrities so they can buy the team.

One.

Kind of...they could probably shuffle their rotation so that he pitches the first day back from his suspension.

They will lose him as a pinch hitter though.

Nobody has mentioned Don Cooper calling Zambrano an asshole and saying that his antics wouldn't be tolerated on the Sox?

They probably wouldn't. Ozzie would probably beat Carlos' ass if he did that kind of stuff on the South Side.

He is an asshole. He acted like a huge baby in front of a million people. The Cubs should suspend him additional time for making them look like assholes as well. I'll lump Ted Lilly in there as well for leaving the dugout to tell an ump that he hasnt been concentrating when he isnt even pitching that day.

It was a despicable act. Should have been a 10-15 game suspension. The worst thing is how many young Cubs fans idolize Zambrano, and they probably think it was cool.

When the Dodgers have Manny, they are the epitome of a perfect lineup. I still like it even without Manny, but it's such a good blend of speed, contact and one big thumper in the middle. I just love watching them hit, especially against the Cubs :)

At least he isn't appealing his suspension, I give him credit for that. He actually probably realizes he was lucky to be suspended so few games.

6 games is a joke. He bumps and ump and endangers people twice by chucking the baseball and taking the bat to the gatorade machine.
