maggsmaggs
QUOTE (Brian @ Jun 12, 2009 -> 02:25 PM) Sorry, Holy Messiah of Sox Fans. Don't try and tell me or anyone what kind of fans we are. I probably went to my first Sox game before you were born. The only way we gain any ground on 1st place is if the Tigers lose now, not the Twins. Hence, I will pull for the Cubs vs. Detroit, but will be neutral vs. Twins. Hope we are watching how to hit Wells. Other way and up the middle and be patient. It's funny listening to Brenly talk about the Cubs approach batting vs. the Twins. It's the same thing we do against them and they do against us. whitesoxfan101
I really don't care who wins these Cubs vs. AL Central games honestly. If the Sox were a legitimate baseball team this year, I'd obviously be rooting for them to beat our rivals in the AL Central race during these games, but we're not going anywhere but a fire sale this season anyways. At the same time, I have fufilled my promise this year to stop paying so much attention to the Cubs (some of you really should try it, it's nice) and thus I really don't care about them anyways. In addition, even if I did care about the Cubs, they aren't going anywhere considering their offense is garbage and will continue to be even when Aramis gets back, plus they have no money to trade for help either. So as for these AL Central vs. Cubs games, whatever. But if the AL Central does play the Cubs in a year in which the Sox are a good team and you aren't 100 percent for the Cubs against our main rivals in the race, THAT would make you a horrible Sox fan. Brian
Bradley may have a 2 run double, but he makes the worst base running blunder I may have seen in recent years and than loses ball in son.
chw42
Bradley is a worse outfielder than he is a base runner. That was atrocious. I know it's hard to see with the sun in your eyes, but he wasn't even close on that fly ball Kubel hit.

chw42
QUOTE (shipps @ Jun 12, 2009 -> 03:54 PM) What did Bradley do? He threw the ball into the stands and thought it was 3 outs when it was only 2. Twins didn't score an extra run because of it, but it was funny as hell.

And then he made a failure of an attempt to catch a bloop pop up by Cuddyer the same inning.
fathom
Hey, at least Milton didn't throw a foreign object into the crowd this time! I'll be honest, I'm rooting for the Twins to sweep the Cubs. As someone mentioned earlier, if there was any indication it would be the Sox/Twins battling it out this year, I'd root for a natural disaster at Wrigley instead. daa84
i thought i would be impartial...but i found myself rooting for the twins...part of it has to do with the fact that so many ignorant cub fans b**** about how bad the AL Central is (and don't get me wrong, the ALC isn't good, but I personally feel its comparable to any NL division) ....and I'd love for nothing more than the twins (now 10-20 on the road) to go into Wrigley and sweep them to prove them wrong

whitesoxfan101
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 13, 2009 -> 02:19 AM) Randy Wells? Meet the American League. That's true, and he was also due to have a bad start with the way over his head numbers he'd been putting up, so it was a bad combination. The man's league tends to bring out the worst in overachieving National League players. I find it humerous how routine it now is for the AL to beat on the NL, and I'm sure it will happen again this year even with the AL seeming to be a little down. The National League really needs to adapt the DH, because they have the distinct disadvantage of having one less good hitter in most games as a result, even in games in NL parks because the DH of the AL team is usually the first guy off the bench. QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Jun 12, 2009 -> 04:56 PM) The best part was when he caught it, he kind of stood there and started swaying like the thug he is. I think he was trying to clear the blurr out of his eyes because he was really batting with the sun on that catch, and had lost one in it earlier. But sure, we can make it racial and start calling him a thug if you'd like to (which is silly anyways, Milton Bradley is not a thug, he's just certifiable crazy.) Yeah, I would normally disagree with this, but we're not going anywhere this year, so do whatever you want (sad but true.) Our lineup would fit in perfectly in the NL right now because it sucks, and no DH (no Thome) makes it even worse. He might shut us down.

fathom
The Cubs pitched to Mauer with a runner on 2nd, 2 outs. He of course delivered an RBI single. I don't care how good Morneau is, you simply don't pitch to the best hitter on this planet.

BearSox
I just realized you could make a legit case for Mauer and Morneau as the two best hitters in the American League, if not in all of baseball.
Jordan4life_2007
QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 13, 2009 -> 01:33 PM) Exactly Maybe you should've said 'currently' the best hitter on the planet. Kinda like when Greinke was pitching better than anybody on the planet. But under no circumstance is he a better pitcher than Johan.
