The Critic
The bad news is, KLSX in Los Angeles has decided to change to a Top 40 format (just what the world needs, another Top 40 radio station), so tomorrow is the final day for The Adam Carolla Show. The ACS is probably my favorite radio show anywhere, and I will miss having 2 to 3 hours' worth of new content every weekday. The good news is, Adam plans to do a free 45-minute podcast from his home - not sure yet how frequent this podcast will be, but any Adam is better than no Adam. Adam will still get paid through 12/31/09, so a 10-month paid vacation is not the worst fate you can "suffer".
BobDylan
Podcasts are a great thing. As a man with no TV, I rely on them heavily. I'll be checking this one out.
shipps
As I have said before,Adam is the greatest radio talk show host I have ever heard. I think he has said that he loves Chicago (or he could have said he hated it more than anything on earth not sure),he would make it big if he came to do radio here. I remember him saying he liked Chicago a lot but he's a Cali guy and he hates the winter weather here. I would be thrilled with a daily 45 minute show - a nice, focused, condensed rant. The only problem with filling 20 hours a week is you end up repeating a lot of stuff. That wouldn't happen with a 45 minute deal. I'd also love a Loveline reunion - send Striker back to whatever no-talent pile he dropped down from.

Those guys were a perfect fit for each other cause Drew is such a passionate, passionate man I have been waiting for that to happen since they split . And yes Striker is filled with awfulness from the depths of the capitol city of Awful. He does a talk show like he is doing filler time between songs that they are about to play. The Critic
QUOTE (3E8 @ Feb 20, 2009 -> 12:15 AM) What about satellite Sirius XM is going down the crapper. Their stock is way down, there's talk of bankruptcy, the merger didn't solve their problems. I heard they're more likely to cut talent than take on new talent. Cali
QUOTE (The Critic @ Feb 19, 2009 -> 01:17 PM) I'd also love a Loveline reunion - send Striker back to whatever no-talent pile he dropped down from. That would be from the flagship station KROQ. He was a DJ and for some reason he got the gig. I stopped listening to Loveline the second Adam left. I never really got into his morning show, I'm kind of loyal to the LA morning show in KROQ (where Adam got his start) Kevin & Bean. Someone called in this morning and said "Hey guys, looks like Mr. Birchum needs a job" Haha. (If you didn't know Mr. Birchum is a character from Crank Yankers, but originated -- and was 1000x's funnier -- on Kevin & Bean in the early-mid 90's)
The Critic
Until the next paying gig comes along, and while KLSX is paying him to stay home, here is the site for Adam's (planned) daily podcast: http://www.carollaradio.com/ First podcast planned for Monday morning. Bookmark it, and...... Get. It. ON! GOT to get it on, no choice but to GET IT ON!!! :headbang

Striker is soooooo bad. I don't buy into him as a guy who is experienced enough in sex to host a talk show. Come back, Adam!

GOT to get it on, no choice but to GET IT ON!!! :headbang He'll also show up on podcasts like Bill Simmons' (Today's - 2/20 is on iTunes) and Dave Dameshek's some time next week. On today's farewell show, Kimmel (when he wasn't busy fighting back tears) told Adam that Kevin and Bean want him on Monday (you can probably find a podcast of it somewhere). He'll be out there, I'm sure. Anyway, I don't know if they're still available, but podcasts of all of his shows from 2006 through today's were put up on iTunes yesterday. I downloaded a bunch from 2006, deleted the Bonaduce 2007 abortion, and picked a few from 2008 on. Should keep my iPod full for a while. Can't wait to see how the new podcast sounds. Brian
The one show I heard of his morning show was when Ann Coulter called in late and Adam hung up on her right away. It was awesome. Was hoping it would get syndicated to Chicago but never was.
Middle Buffalo
QUOTE (Brian @ Feb 21, 2009 -> 11:58 AM) The one show I heard of his morning show was when Ann Coulter called in late and Adam hung up on her right away. It was awesome. Was hoping it would get syndicated to Chicago but never was. That was great. She called in late and immediately gave him a little attitude and said she didn't have much time because someone gave her the wrong number. Then Adam said, "Well how'd you get the right number. Did you just dial randomly?" She said someone emailed it to her, and then said she didn't have much time to talk. So he said, "Okay" and hung up. Classic. I'll add that I love how he measures "himself." From mid-anus to just past the tip. I've adopted that myself. The Critic
QUOTE (Brian @ Feb 24, 2009 -> 09:36 PM) Listened to his podcast today. Never realized he had a lisp. There's a debate whether he has a lisp or if it's a problem with his equipment. Some people claim his mic is "clipping" and that's causing the lisp. Others are saying that he might be doing the show with his teeth-whitening tray in. I don't know why he'd do that, though. I haven't listened yet - I'm saving them for my Sunday night work shift. Cali
I also see he's doing a pilot for CBS, which will unfortunately be UNWATCHABLE, no matter how funny he is. It's a four camera set up and CBS has the worst track record with those. (Except for HIMYM, which while it technically is a four camera, it's really not) I'll give a little credit to Big Bang Theory because I have giggled a lot at random jokes here and there on that show, but all in all it's pretty bad. I think the curse is that it can't be a show FEATURING a big star in the lead. Jay Mohr is a funny mofo, but his show BA-LOWS. The idea of Adam walking into his TV living room with his TV wife and TV kids with a live studio audience makes me cringe...

On TV he looks completely uncomfortable, and that makes me focus on his discomfort rather than what he's saying. Brian Paruch is simply the best sports talk host in this city. The fact that he doesn't have his own time slot is nothing short of criminal.
