Joel
According to ESPN Insider and Gammons is that the Twins are after Shanon Stewert of the Blue jays. According to Gammons the Twins would have to give up 3 OFs and one of those would probaly be Bobby Kielty a player that Sox have had hard time with over the years. Another team intrested in Stewert are the A's Also the Royals are said to be interested in Juan Gonzalas. But there was no mention who they would give up. As white Sox fan I would be more worried about the J-Gone trade instead of the Stewert trade.

The Royals have no pen, all kinds of injury problems, and are talking about trading for an injury prone clubhouse cancer. Let em mortgage the farm system to get Juan. I disagree, I think he will be thier the leadoff hitter. And thats fine, but the problem with that is that they will have know one to drive him in. Hunter, Mientkpiss, and Pireskipiss are way to inconsistant at the plate and Morenu is just a rookie. And they would have traded away there only good run producer in Kielty. Thats why I would worry more about the Stewert trade.
SweetJfour
I would be more concerned with the Twins trade as well. The Twins have proved that when they are firing on all cylinders that can be dominant. I'm still skeptical of the Royals. Eventually these other teams are going to get the hang of these pitchers and start tagging them hard. Adding Juan Gonzalez doesn't make you any more or less dangerous. It just turns your clubhouse into a circus!! Let them make the trade for Juan-Gon. The Twins are still the only team that concerns me right now. (But Beware the Cleveland Indians!!!) Harry Chappas
These trades mean nothing if we do not play to our potential. The Twins have no starting pitching, to get Shannon Stewart would be nice but they still can not pitch. This is the same as us getting Everett, it looks nice but in the end our best denfensive outfielder (and one that has come through more so than others over the last few weeks,) is benched. We appear better but in all actuality we are not. Alomar makes us a better team, Everett helps protect against injury but greatly weakens our defense. LDF
twin will be a prob with them getting stewart. i would love to see him in a sox uni. however the sox needs to start picking it up in order to make a run for the playoff.
Tenacious PW
Gonzalez would also have to waive the no trade clause on his contract. I don't know if he would do that to go to KC. I mean, the guy loves Texas.

I mean, the guy loves Texas. He just changed agents and ESPN ran an article that he is now open to a trade to a contender. I'd say that KC fits that bill right now since they are 7 games ahead in the Central...
LDF
esp if the team sweetens the deal ($$$$) for him to chg his mind.
Guest hotsoxchick1
twins need pitching badly..... and the best they come up with is jb so far.. im not worried about them or their trades unless it improves their pitching staff.. but then again by then they will have weakened their field trying to get it anyhow so does it really matter????? witesoxfan
Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't Juan Gone want a long-term deal to the team he is dealt to? I am not so sure the Royals can do that without giving Texas Carlos Beltran. Beltran will be looking for like $10 mill a year, Sweeney is getting $10 mill a year, and Juan Gone will get $8-$10 mill a year as well. Then if they want to resign Jose Lima at the end of the year(I assume his deal is a one-year deal), that will cost them like $3 mill, Ibanez will eventually cost them some money....I mean, right now, assuming they picked up Juan Gone and signed him long-term(like 3 or 4 years), they are looking at a payroll of like $50-$60 mill for next year. Am I the only one who thinks that they will not acquire Juan Gone because he will not get a long term deal from KC?

I haven't heard him say that so I think the Royals would just have to give up prospects. Plus with the Expos and major league baseball thinking about moving all 81 games to Puerto Rico next year I would not be suprised if he goes and signs there next year. And if they anouced it in time(meaning before July 31st or before the Rangers trade him) I would not be suprised if he changed his mind and went to the Expos for the rest of the year and then resigned with them so he could play with them in his country. Rex Hudler
All I have heard is that he will consider going to an American League team that is in contention and plays on grass.
