Kalapse
If I had to guess: Owens, CF Wise, LF Konerko, 1B Dye, RF Pierzynski, C Betemit, SS Fields, 3B Getz, 2B Danks, P Should be a considerably boring game.

scenario
QUOTE (kane0730 @ Mar 4, 2009 -> 08:10 PM) At least we get to see Flowers take some cuts. One of the more interesting parts of the game tonight should be the pitching. Van Benschoten is scheduled to follow Danks. Then Poreda... Nunez Link and a few others So we'll get to see a few new arms out there.

scenario
QUOTE (JPN366 @ Mar 4, 2009 -> 08:51 PM) Santeliz is a poor man's K-Rod, just without control. Link is the man, bulldog closer. Another plus about Santeliz. He's typically been one of the youngest players on every team he's played for. So, he's got some room to grow. For example, he was promoted to Birmingham last year at 21 years old. If he has a good first half in Birmingham in 2009, it's possible he could end up in Charlotte at age 22. SouthsideDon48
I really think there's a lot of potential of there was an expansion team based in Vegas. They can just build it on the outskirts of Vegas, but provide shuttle service to and from the strip. Even possibly sell tickets from designated areas of casinos or something. Given the things like Pete Rose, the 1919 White Sox, I think they might have an instinct against it. 2nd...Vegas is one of those "Ground zero for the housing bust" areas that way, way, way overbuilt on housing and is now going to be experiencing stagnant growth for probably decades, even with the casinos. Hell, the casinos way overbuilt too, they're having to low-ball everyone just to keep people coming in. To finish the CityCenter project, MGM Mirage had to sell off TI to private investors just to get funds. Their stocks are mostly in the toilet. justBLAZE
Owens flies out, AJ with a double, Paulie gets hit by Samardija. Betemit flies out. There should be home runs, its really windy in Vegas.

Hell, the casinos way overbuilt too, they're having to low-ball everyone just to keep people coming in. To finish the CityCenter project, MGM Mirage had to sell off TI to private investors just to get funds. Their stocks are mostly in the toilet. But I remember reading somewhere that Vegas was considered as a potential location for either an expansion team or for the relocation of the Expos. I also remember seeing a Mexican city on the list as well. It doesn't seem like MLB is too opposed to the idea of venturing into Vegas. As for the expected stagnant population growth of Vegas, I've always thought a team based in Vegas would usually have more away team fans than home fans, anyway. I think a team in Vegas won't experience much hometown loyalty from their fans, but they'll be a big entertainment draw from tourists. Gambling, seeing the Hoover Dam, riding roller coasters, riding dune buggies, seeing Cirque Du Solei (sp?), and... seeing a baseball game. That's all entertainment draws right there. Plus, any hardcore baseball fan visiting Vegas would love to see their visiting team play the Vegas team. Vegas is also warm enough during the entire baseball season to keep a steady flow of visitors, as well.
