whitesoxfan101
I would think Northwestern will have a first round home game in this, perhaps Illinois State as well. Will Bradley make it too? Perhaps they'll go to the 3rd tournament again, and actually I believe there is a 4th tournament this year as well. zenryan
I guess I'll watch Miami since there isnt else going on during the week but whatever really. Miami probably would get a high seed for the NIT but they wont have any home games because their arena is booked for a music series for the week. hahaha

I'm sure the NCAA did that on purpose for the story line too.

zenryan
Miami wins 78-66 at Providence. I didnt watch the game so I dont know how excited Providence was but it appears we play pretty well regardless. Pisses me off because if we played that well vs VT in the ACC tournament we might be playing tomorrow or Friday in the NCAAs.

kev211
QUOTE (kev211 @ Mar 18, 2009 -> 09:26 PM) I've never had a sports team leave me heartbroken so much times in 1 season. ISU losses 83-79 after somehow KSU got to inbound the ball with 1 second left instead of ISU after the ball went out of bounds on a free throw? Love to see what happened there. Then they took a shot to rub it in. 5 overtime losses I can't believe this season. Only 1 double digit loss all season.
Brian
Va Tech trying a huge comeback against Baylor. Were down 25, now just down 15 with 6 mins left. Lots of momentum.
danman31
Davidson @ St. Mary's is about to start. This is going to be tournament quality basketball. 2 pro guards against each other.
Jordan4life_2007
QUOTE (danman31 @ Mar 23, 2009 -> 09:41 PM) Davidson @ St. Mary's is about to start. This is going to be tournament quality basketball. 2 pro guards against each other. Patty Mills is spectacular. Damn shame he got hurt. St. Mary's is better than probably half the schools that actually made the tourney.

St. Mary's is better than probably half the schools that actually made the tourney. Yeah, really is a shame. Both of these guys could come back so maybe they can make the tournament more interesting than the chalk fest we've seen this year. Mills has 17 at the half, Curry with 11. Curry finished with 26 with 9 boards and 6 assists. Mills had 23 with 10 assists to only 1 turnover. I hope they both comeback to make the tourney next year. Felix
So I haven't watched any of the NIT, but I just caught the very end of SDSU/St. Mary's game and saw the SDSU fans rush the court. Anyone that actually watched the whole game know why, or were they seriously just that excited to get into the semifinals of the NIT? ChiSox_Sonix
In SDSU's defense, it is a big deal for them. Without looking it up, when was the last time they had a successful team? This was their last home game of the year, they won the right to play in NYC at MSG on national television against BCS schools, they are in the NIT Final Four (something that means something for mid-majors)...i'm willing to give them a pass on the rushing the court. They were all just excited. I'm sure i would be too if I was a student there.
