Balta1701
Owens, LF Pierzynski, C TCQ, DH Dye, RF Betemit, 1b Ramirez, SS Viciedo, 3b Anderson, CF Nix, 2b Richard on the mound. Haren on the bump for the D-Backs. Thought Thome was supposed to be back today. Hope he didn't have a setback. Any idea if there's a B-game he might be playing in? RockRaines
That lineup makes me want to puke. Owens and AJP back to back is just awful.

SoIL
I read Thome is due to play tomorrow. He might be in a B game today or just taking swings in the cages.
NorthSideSox72
QUOTE (qwerty @ Mar 17, 2009 -> 02:59 PM) Macdougal is tied for the second in a certain category this spring... what is it? He's had a good spring, surprisingly. Strikeouts maybe? (I am guessing without looking it up)
NorthSideSox72
I want to see Lucy get a start at catcher. The guy has answered the question of health at this point, and if healthy, he is by far my top choice for the backup job.

SoxAce
Macdougal is tied for the second in a certain category this spring... what is it? Knowing his ass.. it's gotta be either walks or wild pitches. Maybe even hit by pitch to batters. I'll say walks cuz the guy is control retarted. Kalapse
It's Ks. His K/9 is over 14 in his 7 outings. He's also leading all pitchers in walks.

Dick Allen
QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Mar 17, 2009 -> 03:10 PM) He's a wild and crazy guy. He has a ton of talent. If he ever learned how to throw strikes, he would be amazing. At this point, its probably not going to happen.
witesoxfan
maybe with that crazy K rate, some team desperate for bullpen help picks him up for nothing
DBAHO
It's all or nothing for Mike whenever he's on th mound (his wild pitch against the Yankees late last season to cost Richard a win still annoys the hell outta me to this day).

Balta1701
Sox take a 1-0 lead in the first on a single by Betemit. Hits by Q, Pierzynski, and Wilson in that frame, outs by Owens, Dye, Alexei.

I wouldn't think so, but there are always dumb teams out there, and a 14 K/9 is sexy, even if it is against burger flippers
flavum
I think Betemit will be the bizarro Juan Uribe. We'll love his bat, and hate his glove.

Balta1701
Seems all we get is the live box score today. No audio for either side, no gameday. Richard gets through the first inning somehow, although the Box score makes no sense (the leadoff and #2 hitters never came to bat and he only recorded 2 outs according to it). Viciedo with a leadoff double in the 2nd. Anderson then somehow hit in to a double play with only a man on 2nd. Nix struck out.
