Some picks like Contreras in the Acquired Starting rotation are questionable. I mean, Contreras has ton of talent but hasnt put up the those Cy Young Caliber numbers in a long enough period of time to earn that spot. Freddy deserves it more in my mind, but even then hes not a great pick becuase he was above average but not great here. Seems like a lot of the picks were based off the '05 run, which is cool, but not necessarily showing of how great the player was in their career, just in the postseason etc. I mean, Crede? Good player during those few years, but he didnt put up nearly the same, consistent, numbers as Minoso, who barely got in on the roster. There were literally people writing in Baseball America saying "Ty Griffin will move Sandberg to first base by next year." He played in as many big league games as ME! Remember when Todd Van Poppel's agent started making noise about how much money he wanted and how he was going to commit to U of Texas? Van Poppel turned into a bust with one decent year as a middle reliever, but as a starter finished with a career ERA of 5.58 and never won more than 7 games despite pitching on a STACKED Oakland team with Eckersley closing. Fantastic read. You seem like a PhD of the game. I did not see Horlen pitch but my old man always sung his praises. Barojas was impressive for a short period but I sort of recall him getting figured out soon enough and then traded. I think Barojas does not deserve to be on this list. You are right, BTW, Burns was nails in Game 4 and deserves accolades for that performance alone. Too bad his hip broke down and ended his career short.
