I'm talking about the less proven players on the current roster below the age of 30. If Thome, Dye or Konerko hit .270 and 30+ hrs it would be nice, but not really a big surprise.

Who is this year's version of TCQ,Floyd,Lexi or Danks?

Put me on the Betimit bandwagon. Huge prospect at one time, could be a late bloomer, tearing the cover off the ball this spring.

Betemit here too. I think he can be a great bench/utility guy. I could see him coming up with some big late inning, game winning hits. Getz could be the biggest key though, outside of the backend of the rotation. He doesn't have to be great, just have a decent OBP to set the table and keep the leadoff position once Ozzie gives him the spot.

Yeah, I don't really think that anyone would be "surprised" to see Getz have a good season

This is true. But, I was more asking who is this year's version of TCQ,Floyd,Lexi or Danks?

Surprised if Getz has a good season? No

Surprised if he could fit in with those names? Yes

Anything is possible...

So many names to choose from. BA, Getz, Richard, Marquez, or Fields could all do well in my opinion. But be the biggest surprise? I like Marquez or Richard for that. I hope one of them (if not both) gets a chance to start in the Bigs for a while this year.

Which is a good thing and reminds me of spring training last year. I thought we had some major holes before the season started.

I went with Getz because I think he'll be the biggest surprise to the casual White Sox fans that do not obsessively follow White Sox message boards, like me, or really know anything about the Sox's minor league system.

However, if I was able to vote for 3 choices, then I would've gone with Getz, Fields, and Betemit.

I think Getz will be the sparkplug-type of player that will stimulate our offense.

With Fields, it seems like a lot of casual fans forgot about the 20+ home runs he posted in 2007. Also, with his knee all taken care of, I think the extra speed boost Fields has will make him an even more well-rounded player that can steal some occasional bases. He will definitely make our line-up more speedier and give it a different look from the station-to-station line-up we've had the last couple seasons.

And Betemit,... this guy is gonna rock. He's gonna be one of the most potent bats off the bench and, as someone else said in an earlier post, he will hit some game-winning home runs.

Voted for Fields, but I've come out of this ST in love with Brandon Allen and Lucas Harrell. If one of them makes the team because of an injury to Paulie/Thome or ineffectiveness on the part of the bullpen then that guy becomes my pick, because he'll be much more of a surprise than Fields who has already shown his power potential in the big leagues.

I also think that if Egbert even gets a shot he'll be able to stick like Carrasco did last year, but I just don't see that happening. He'll be another version of Wassermann, who constantly put up numbers at every stop in the minors but yet ended up behind luminaries such as Ryan Bukvich and Brett Prinz and only got a chance after a completely miserable failure by just about every single person in the bullpen sans Bobby. And I still like Wassermann too, and I still don't think he should be facing lefties, and I still hope he gets traded elsewhere so that he can have a chance at success as a righty specialist.

He got set back by injury, but I think once Jayson Nix gets back, he is gonna take the 2nd base job away from Getz and never look back...

I like most names on the Poll list, and Jayson Nix is definitely one of them. Should be a fun year.

Josh Fields hit 23 home runs 2 years ago, I don't see how he can really be that surprising. Unless you're talking mostly about defense...

No. I'm talking about reaching a level of any of the following TCQ,Alexi,Danks or Floyd (as stated on the opening post). I would find it slightly surprising if he could put up good power numbers and hit above .270.
