Jordan4life_2003
I was reading the daily herald today and it made a pretty good point. Come July 31 if this team is still below .500 7-8 gms back of 1st place u can pretty much take it to the bank that there will be MAJOR changes made to the roster. That means pretty everybody is fair game. And that would pretty much mean the end of the Jerry Manuel era. Once again we have a bunch of teams comin up that we should beat. But as we have painfully found out with this team the last couple years that we can't take ANYBODY AND I MEAN ANYBODY for granted. So lets see how the boys respond. I'm gonna be hopin and prayin. Bridgeport_Joe
Quite honestly? This is moment of truth #2 this year. They passed the first real test--the twelve games against the Cubs and Twins. If they had gone 4-8, then I think you would have seen an immediate fire sale and Manuel would be gone. With respect to the current stretch, they need to trim the lead to five games going into KC, or they need to go at least 8-3 in the next 11. A failure to do either would probably result in trades and Manuel's dismissal.

As far as Manuel goes, if he ain't going after a 3-7 roadtrip against the AL bottom feeders after the team fights it's way back to .500, then I'm not sure if he is going if we lose the next 68 games either. The guy is a f***ing moron yet the White Sox Organization refuses to do anything.
