Going through hell and back because of Brett Favre has NOTHING to do with his abilities on the field. He still had to practice and he was still getting all the snaps. Ryan Grant is NOT as good of a RB as people think he is. And I'm sure Rodgers was just sooooo pissed about having to throw to Driver and Jennings all season.

Please, Cutler > Rodgers. And if you're going to use the running game argument, it still doesn't apply, because Denver didn't have one.

Really? I would say being ranked 12th in the league at 116.4 yards a game rushing is pretty impressive considering they went through 7 backs

Isn't that the point? Rodgers had no running game for the first half of the year (like I said) and Denver's OL > Green Bay's OL last year.

Favre to the Viqueens makes sense, they already have the best RB in the NFL,he's a huge upgrade at QB no matter that his best days are behind him,he doesn't need to be spectacular,he just needs to be a capable... he'll make the Viqueens the team to beat in the North.

Kind of like he made the Jets the team to beat last year?

IF Favre could be a game manager (like Elway with Terrell Davis), the Vikings would be the favorites. I honestly don't believe that Favre can play that role, assuming he's healthy enough to be the 'gunslinger' that he always has been. In my opinion, Favre would ruin the Vikings chances as he'll take them away from the team's strenghts: playing good defense and running it down the opposition's throats. I didn't watch much of Favre on the Jets last year, so maybe Favre toned it down (when healthy) last year, but I'll believe it when I see it. Until then, I think Favre doesn't help the Vicodins that much (another if...if he signs with them after all).

After the Jets got to 9-3 or 9-4 or whatever it was, Mangini became pass happy, which is why Favre went back to vintage Favre with all his TO's. I'm afraid I agree with Mex here.

how about Favre breaking down at the end like he did in the previous few seasons? I hope the queens sign favre.

I hope the Vikings sign Favre as well, that way I get to see him play next year.

If Gus Frerotte and Tavaris Jackson can manage the Vikings to a division title, Favre should be able to as long as he makes good decisions. But even if Favre leads the Vikings to the playoffs, a lot of fans will consider the year a failure if they don't win a Super Bowl. Most fans I've heard around here are already thinking Super Bowl, which is laughable as of now.

Hopefully the Bears improved their 30th ranked passing defense from last year, even if it's just getting players healthy again, otherwise Favre could have some fun throwing the ball if he signs with the Vikes. I don't follow the Bears so I don't know who else they've gotten besides Cutler and Pace. How have the Packers improved?

The Bears have improved their line by hiring a premier defensive line coach and using their highest draft pick on a defensive lineman. If the Bears do have an improved line, less pressure will be put on the secondary. The one vulnerability the Bears have (on paper at least) is the home run ball down the middle of the field which is the responsibility of a free safety. Bears coaches are excited about Craig Steltz, I'm not sure if I am. But they would know more than me obviously. Regardless, if a QB has no time to launch a home run ball, then obviously there will be a lot less responsibility for Craig Steltz.

The Packers have improved by grabbing the top Lineman in the draft. However, you can make an argument for digression due for the defensive scheme switch (from 4-3 to 3-4). Usually such a switch will have an adjustment period follow afterword.

Here are some teams doing such a switch http://www.boltsfromtheblue.com/2009/4/19/...o-a-3-4-defense

So as you can see, there are mixed results. Grabbing Raji will likely make the adjustment period minor, if an adjustment period will take place at all.

That's some impressive info, and I am being serious. I know the Chiefs are switching to the 3-4 defense this year, so hopefully they have better results, but it's almost impossible not to have better results. I still have doubts with Green Bay being able to compete with Minnesota and Chicago, but you never know. Should be an interesting division to watch.

Source: Jeff McLane, The Philadelphia Inquirer

Jeff McLane, of The Philadelphia Inquirer, reports Philadelphia Eagles head coach Andy Reid said during a radio interview that the team checked into the availability of Arizona Cardinals WR Anquan Boldin before the NFL draft, but found the price too high. Reid suggested the price might have been first-, third- and fifth-round draft picks. 'That's a lot of picks, No. 1,' Reid said. 'And then you're going to pay the guy $10 million. So you get hit on both sides of it.' Instead, the Eagles traded up in the NFL Draft to select WR Jeremy Maclin.

Apprently this was the price on Boldin and must have been why Angelo wasn't able to get something worked out. They were probably demanding our 2nd this year, 2nd next year and more.

Tom Moore retired. Wonder how that's going to affect Peyton Manning. My guess is not at all.

Peyton has been running the show for a while. He has a billion page playbook memorized

I wouldn't be betting the Colts this year. They lost one of the best head coaches in the league, one of the best oline coaches in the league, and arguably the best offensive coordinator in the league. This is all after they somehow made the playoffs despite playing awful football most of the season (I know a Colts fan will probably jump on me for saying this, but I watched most of the Colts game last year and they were not a playoff caliber football team, nor were the Chargers).

I think the Colts are a pretty safe bet to be a 10-6/11-5 type team next year. I really, really like Donald Brown and having Bob Sanders for a full season will be huge for the defense. I could see them having a season like the Arizona Cardinals in the playoffs, where the offense is fantastic and the defense does just enough.

How are they going to do that?
