whitesoxfan101
Brady is definitely WAY overrated. He had maybe the best season of all time by a QB in 2007, and nobody can take that away from him (well, except for the fact his team choked in the Super Bowl and only scored 14 points). But look at his numbers other than 2007, which includes 6 full seasons, and he's definitely nowhere near in the class with the great hall of famers he's mentioned with. Very good QB (and with 3 rings of course), but not as good as people make him out to be. Edited August 29, 2009 by whitesoxfan101

whitesoxbrian
Today I have a fantasy draft. It's a 16 team league and the winner gets $1180. I'm going to try to go for Barber, then Boldin/Jennings, then Rice/McFadden. Wish me luck.

Thoughts? I think you're top 2 WRs and Olsen should give you a big advantage in a 16 team league, especially since it looks like Cassel is only going to miss 1 regular season game. LT could be a big suprise for your team. For 16 teams it looks good, but I would pick up a different back up QB the second you see someone available or an injury occurs, Sanchez may be good eventually, but it's going to be tough sledding with the Jets this year
dasox24
QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Aug 30, 2009 -> 09:08 PM) QB: Hasselbeck, Mark Sanchez RB: LT, Ray Rice, Mendenhall, Cadillac Williams WR: Andre Johnson, Bowe, Josh Morgan, Bess, Manningham TE: Olsen, Keller K: Josh Brown DEF: Cowboys, Texans Keep in mind it's a 16 team league. Thoughts? I like it a lot for a 16 team league. The WR's are great. I assume they were your 2nd and 3rd round picks. Ray Rice has a legit shot at beating out McGahee, or at least getting a lot of carries. It helps you that McLain was moved to FB. And Mendenhall could have a good year with Parker's injury history and the fact that he's getting up there in age. And Olsen should have a good year at TE. I did a draft tonight for my friend in a 12 team league. I offered to do it to get a practice draft in before my real league, and b/c he doesn't know as much about football as I do. We're splitting the winnings if he wins... This is what I came out with. Any thoughts? QB - Rivers, Favre RB - Chris Johnson, Frank Gore, Donald Brown, Felix Jones, James Davis WR - Bowe, Lee Evans, Eddie Royal, Anthony Gonzalez TE - Witten, Heath Miller K - Kaeding DEF - Packers, Chargers
witesoxfan
QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Aug 30, 2009 -> 10:08 PM) QB: Hasselbeck, Mark Sanchez RB: LT, Ray Rice, Mendenhall, Cadillac Williams WR: Andre Johnson, Bowe, Josh Morgan, Bess, Manningham TE: Olsen, Keller K: Josh Brown DEF: Cowboys, Texans Keep in mind it's a 16 team league. Thoughts? solid depth at RB, but no solid 2nd starter. I love the thought process, but don't like how it went about (draft 2nd running backs based on potential to start). Rice is likely to start, but McClain and McGahee propose too many problems. Mendenhall may flat out not be good enough and, unless Willie is healthy, he's a f***ing stud. And, even with any talent around, Cadillac Williams may not get enough carries, especially consider the injuries he's had. Stay away. Wideout is good, because Johnson is yayaya, and Bowe is going to get numbers. Morgan is a solid backup if something goes wrong, you have another #2 in Bess, and Manningingham is a solid choice, though perhaps not my favorite. If you have a feeling, go with it. Don't like Cowboys defense, but you have a good team otherwise. Just go with it till about week 4-5...thats when most changes should be noticed and made. I would, at the very least, look for a better backup running back. Don't drop Rice, as he may help, but the other two are irrelevant at this point, as far as (my drunk ass) is concerned. Do drop Caddy. Too many injuries, too s***ty a team. I'd be surprised if he gets 500 yards this year. Edited August 31, 2009 by witesoxfan
